I don’t know what is in the water in Sugarloaf, but it certainly grows its men dreamy. And I am seriously obsessed with all of the Whitlock men.
Rowan is a dairy farmer in town and he’s up against another farmer for a contract. That farmer? Charlotte Sullivan, aka, his ex’s sister. And she is not a fan of his at all.
There is seriously so much to love about this book. If you were unaware, I am a sucker for any story involving hiking, camping, cabining, tenting, or sleeping bags 😏 ….and let’s just say Tempting Promises has so much forced proximity goodness that I simply adore. An ice storm may have blown in, causing Rowan and Charlotte to get stranded for a bit, but the inside of that cabin where they holed up was burning hot! The banter and sexual tension between these two is off the charts, and I can’t express how much I loved this book.
The whole Whitlock family and friend group are wonderful, and seeing Rowan with his niece Olivia is just too much cuteness. I adored Olivia from the moment she stepped on page in Forbidden Hearts, and as an HoH person, I appreciate the Deaf and ASL rep that is ongoing throughout this series.
I just love Corinne’s writing and this story, and its release is seriously an epic birthday present for yours truly!

💕Forbidden Promises💕
I’ll say it again, Corinne’s men are some of my absolute favorite & Rowan did not disappoint. I’ve been excited for his story from the beginning of this series and LOVED the tension between him and Charlotte. I’m a sloooooot for an angsty story & theirs is FULLLLL of angst.
Rowan Whitlock is working hard to expand his families farm, but constantly finds himself up against Charlotte (the sister of one of his previous hook-ups, and owner of the neighboring farm). They’ve battled over land, livestock, and now find themselves in competition over a contract with a milk supplier. Charlotte can’t stand Rowan, because her sister accused him of cheating on her, and makes sure to let everyone know how she feels. But when they find themselves alone in a cabin during an ice storm after a group hiking trip gone bad, they give in to the tension - but only until they’re free. However, once they’re back to reality they can’t seem to give each other up.
“Yours. What would you have your future look like? If you could write it.” You.
“Do you want to 💦 on my tongue, sweet girl?” “You know I do.” “Then beg. Tell me how much you want it, and it’s yours.” “Please, give me your mouth, Eat me out and get me off.”

"You're mine."
"And what about you? Are you mine?"
"I've never been anyone else's."
- Small town
- Enemies to lovers (rival farms)
- Sister’s ex
- Snowed in with one bed
- Dual POV
- Narrated by Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke
This is such a fantastic small-town romance series. This time around, we see Rowan meet his match in Charlotte. They live on rival farms and are up for the same work contract. But things take a turn when they get snowed in for several days while away with friends.
What happens in the cabin doesn't always stay in the cabin because they can't stay away from each other.
What I loved:
- Rowan, baby! A protective, dirty-talking farmer? Say less! His love language was acts of service, which makes me swoon every time. His shining moment was at the end when he showed up for Charlotte time and time again.
- Corinne giving us enemies to lovers because she writes it so well. She’s an expert at building tension through forced proximity and amazing banter. This pair loved to challenge each other, and this push-and-pull made for the best dynamic.
- The spice was spicin'! When I say these two couldn't stay away from each other, I mean it 😮💨.
- The fact they had more in common than they realised, including both having never been in a relationship but taking that next step so naturally and effortlessly.
- The supporting characters. I loved Faye's unwavering support, I loved Rowan and Olivia's relationship, and I also wasn't mad at the sibling moments either.
Thank you to Corinne for the early audio copy!

"I could fall for you if I let myself."
Tempting Promises hit differently than the previous books in this series. The enemies to lovers portion was done to PERFECTION. The spice and banter were on a whole other level!! I had a perma-grin almost the whole time while reading. Rowan and Charlotte were so damn lovable that I decided I would do whatever it takes to protect them 🫶

❤️🔥Spicy cabin scenes
Rowan + Charlotte have been enemies since Rowan supposedly “cheated” on her sister. They both also share land close to one another and Rowan is constantly outbidding Charlotte. The stress of the farm is getting to her so she decided to go with her friends to the mountains, but ends up getting stuck in a cabin for a few days with Rowan. The tension becomes too much to handle and they finally give in to one another. But, when they go back they say they will just be friend with one another, but they can’t stop from secretly seeing one another.
This just became my top favorite book in this series!🙌🏻
The enemies to lovers banter will make you so giddy. The “I hate you” but desperately “I want you” vibes, along with Rowan’s dirty mouth will have you fanning yourself. 🥵
I also love the “forbidden” aspect of it all since Rowan hooked-up with her sister years ago. And when she find out the truth about what happened, you can help but root for the two of them. 🫶🏻
This is the third book of the Whitlock Family series, but CAN be read as a standalone. No cheating + of course, a HEA! 🫶🏻
