Now THIS is the kind of enemies to lovers I LIVEEEEEE FOR. You slayed this Corinne!! This is the third book in the Whitlock family series & I absolutely loved it. Rowan & Charolette >>>

Two farmers, one who happens to be the ex bf of the other’s sister, who have boiling hot tension between them that could make you melt. Not to mention the constant competitive nature between the two makes it THAT much better when the tension finally snaps and they give in to their temptations. These two have some amazing chemistry. And they were the perfect match for the other. For being a former playboy who was never ready to settle down, the was the swooniest & made my heart melt on multiple occasions.

The spice was SPICING, oh my wordddd. The cabin SCENES. The bar scene. I love it anytime characters  are sneaking around in public 🤭🤭!!  And the hat game they played, it brought a whole new meaning to wear the hat 😛

Jason Clarke & Andi Arndts narration brought it to life so well & it truly was music to my heart! Such an awesome listening experience.

It’s official: the Whitlock men have ruined me forever! As much as I adored Asher and Grady (okay, fine, I still do), Rowan was freaking amazing. I loved a reformed playboy so much and…eventually…that’s Rowan. I also love a badass boss woman and that is exactly Charlotte. Charlotte is fighting hard to save her family farm, and her main opponent in that fight is Rowan Whitlock. It doesn’t help that Charlotte’s sister, Aurora, had previously been with Rowan and spread all sorts of nasty rumors about him, especially to Charlotte. So, their battles were knockdown dragout and neither one of them ever held their punches. But, honestly, their banter was absolutely hilarious because they obviously weren’t afraid of giving each other shit, so I was definitely giggling at all their back-and-forth verbal spars. And, wouldn’t you know, Rowan and Charlotte get stuck together on a trip to a friend’s cabin in the woods, and, even worse, they get stuck in a remote cabin with only each other during an ice storm. During those 5 days, things heat up with Rowan and Charlotte, much to both of their dismay (although the…heat…was great so neither one was complaining about that particular part). They both promise to never speak of it again when they get back because they’re known enemies, plus they’re also in competition for a contract that would help their respective farms. Obviously, they have a hard time staying away from each other because their chemistry is just so amazing in the bedroom, so they sneak around together and hope no one ever finds out. Honestly, Rowan definitely has the dirtiest mouth of all the Whitlock men and I am here for it!! Seriously, you need to read this book for his mouth alone. 🥵 Another thing I loved about this book was the banter between the Whitlock siblings (and their partners). I just love good banter and the Whitlocks are good at ragging on each other, so I was laughing a lot during this story. It was also nice to see more of Olivia, Asher’s daughter, and watch her and Rowan interact. I loved the character growth that both Rowan and Charlotte had throughout this story. Yeah, Rowan had more growth than Charlotte, but it was amazing to watch his views on life be challenged when Charlotte entered his life as more than an enemy. (You'll see below that all of my favorite quotes are from Rowan because he grew so much during this story). This story had me laughing, smiling, blushing, and even crying, and I loved every second of it and I am beyond ready to see what Brynlee gets up to in her story!

Quotes I Loved:

"Charlotte is stunning, arresting, fucking breathtaking. Until she opens her mouth and the hate for me falls from those pouty lips." -Rowan

"They say there's a thin line between love and hate, what do you say we figure out what side we're on?" -Rowan

"Charlotte has ruined me and saved me at the same time." -Rowan

"I will fight the world and ruin myself in the process to make sure nothing hurts you."
-Rowan

"I've realized that when you love someone, there is no mountain too high to climb to make them feel loved."
-Rowan

"I have never felt such a longing for another person in my entire life. She's the reason I breathe and why seasons change. She's why I have hope for the future and can let go of the past."
-Rowan

This was such a fun, steamy, enemies to lovers romance.
Rowan and Charlotte hate each other. They run rival farms and they’re vying for the same contract, so they are enemies in every sense of the word.

I gobbled up their story, so much tension and angst, and lots of hate s*x! They get snowed in together and they just can’t take their hands off each other.

I love these two and how their relationship came to be, and the support they each gave the other warmed my soul.

*Thank you so much to Corinne Michaels for providing me an E-ARC & Audio ARC for this story. All opinions & thoughts are my honest review.

This was my first time reading a book by Corinne Michaels, but I had always heard great things about her books. When I heard this book was set in a small town, had forced proximity, and it was enemies to lovers, I knew right away I needed to read this story for myself! This story followed, Charlotte Sullivan and Rowan Whitlock as they went from hating each other to slowly but surely falling for each other. This is part of an interconnected series following each of the Whitlock siblings, and while I hadn’t read the previous books, I was still able to grasp a good understanding of the dynamics between Rowan and his siblings. This was a good story to start off my Corinne Michaels reading experience, and once again I was so thankful I got the chance to read and listen to this story!

*Quick Note: I listened to the audiobook while reading the E-ARC because I wanted to actually hear how the characters, and just get a vibe of the story overall.

As I started reading/listening to this book, I immediately liked the audiobook! Listening to audiobooks is a new thing for me so, to hear how Rowan and Charlotte were voiced was a really great way to immerse myself in the story! I think the voice actors chosen to be Rowan and Charlotte really captured the essence of who they were. From Rowan’s deep, rugged, sarcastic, and sometimes flirtatious nature to Charlotte’s sassy, feisty, strong personality were conveyed perfectly. If you’re looking to getting into audiobooks, I would say go for it especially with this book as you’ll laugh and enjoy the characters. I also loved how the voices were done for the other characters too. Not sure if all audiobooks do this, but even just having a different person do the voice of another entirely different character made the difference for me, and really helped in differentiating between them. In addition, I really thought the voice actors did a great job in changing their voices for other characters when it was in either Rowan or Charlotte’s chapter. All in all, I was loving the listening to the audio!

Rowan and Charlotte weren’t each other’s biggest fans, but they sure did have some entertaining banter and tension. As lots of enemies to lovers stories, Rowan and Charlotte shared a heavy dislike towards one another and that made for plenty of sarcastic comments and the occasional disagreements between them. I also liked the banter between them as they constantly tried to one up each other and push each other’s buttons. Yes, nothing says, “I don’t like you”, like messing around and taking jabs at one another when the occasion comes. Once it came to Rowan and Charlotte going on the trip with their friends, it was a change in their dynamic that further gave lots of entertaining moments that made my jaw drop and laugh.

If you love forced proximity, you’ll love the way it plays out with Rowan and Charlotte! I sure did! Combining enemies to lovers and forced proximity along with Rowan and Charlotte adamantly saying they hate one another while being stuck in a cabin together was chef’s kiss! The way those two acknowledged as a “one and done” type of night, but also couldn’t get enough of each other was spicy and exciting. The dialogue between Rowan and Charlotte got better and better, it was BOMB! There was a little bit of tension, coupled with, “I hate you, but want you” vibes, and together created a hot, sexy time for Rowan and Charlotte! WOO!

Let me reiterate that the audio was truly an experience, definitely had me blushing for sure when it came to the spicy scenes and iconic moments throughout the story! I’ve read my fair share of spicy books, but omg it’s another level listening to it in audio that made me blush and downright drop my jaw like….HOLY *BEEP! Who knew a man’s voice LIKE THAT COULD BE SO SEXY! Again, the voice actors did a great job, but hearing Rowan say things like, “good girl” and basically the banter between him and Charlotte during their first sexy time truly gave, “I hate you, but we’ll still have hate sex” vibes!!!!

Rowan was a ruggedly, blunt, kind of man, but he was also became madly in love with Charlotte. If there’s one thing I adore in romance books such as in an enemies to lovers one, it’s seeing the enemies become softer and vulnerable with one another. Once Rowan and Charlotte got pass their hate filled arguments and sex marathons hahaha they were both able to open up to each other that revealed a lot to them. More than that, I really loved seeing the way Rowan showed Charlotte how much she meant to him. If your love language is acts of service, then Rowan is the fictional man for you! Rowan not only told Charlotte how much he cared deeply for her, but he also put himself to work helping around her farm, and doing all the things that needed to be fixed/done. We love a supportive and helpful man which Rowan was! As much as I love reading about a man saying the most sexiest or beautiful things, to put one’s actions on display speak a lot louder, and in this case meant the world to Charlotte.

Even enemies end up falling in love just as seen with Rowan and Charlotte. For this being my first time reading a book written by Corinne Michaels, I thought it was good, fun, and enjoyable. The way Rowan and Charlotte were written truly gave off “enemies to lovers” and even when they got together, I loved seeing them still have that teasing, challenging feeling they originally had when they were enemies, but in a more playful way as an official couple. The spice was great especially listening to the audio I was blushing at certain parts haha goes to show that the voice actors did their jobs right in making me react to their banter, conversations, and emotions they conveyed all through their voices. While I haven’t read the previous books in this series, I found it ok to follow along with the other Whitlock siblings. Also, can I just say how adorable Olivia was! Loved her and how sweet yet a bit sassy she was with Rowan and their family. If you love enemies to lovers, forced proximity, small town, snarky banter, and characters who push each others buttons, you’ll love Charlotte and Rowan.

Corinne Michales is an author I've enjoyed for a bit now, I still have a decent amount of her backlist to read, but I've also finished at least three of her longer series and this series is just next level. Don't get me wrong, I've honestly enjoyed everything I've read from her, so for this series to be next level? It's 100% one you don't want to miss, especially if you love small town romances.

Rowan and Charlotte do not like each other, even a little bit. Rowan is supposedly responsible for making Charlotte's sister leave town and never return. Rowan knows the truth about what happened with Charlotte's sister, but it's not worth the fight. The people who believe the lies aren't worth his time, that included Charlotte, even if they are neighbors and always running into each other. But getting trapped in a cabin in the middle of an ice storm, just the two of them can change a lot of things. They can promise each other that what happens in the cabin stays in the cabin, but when real feelings become part of the equation, that is harder than it sounds. There's a lot on the line if they try to make a real go of things, and it's hard to tell if it's all worth it in the end.

I really enjoyed this whole story and I loved the relationship development between Rowan and Charlotte. The banter between them at the start of this was seriously top-notch, and the slow progression into more was perfect. The both of them realizing they had the wrong idea about the other person, while still keeping that flirty banter going? It's an absolute favorite of mine. I loved that Rowan always looked out for Charlotte, even when he didn't like her. It just proves that he's a good guy and completely swoon worthy. I loved how the third act conflict played out, especially how Rowan handled the entire situation. I was worried about how everything with Charlotte's sister was going to play out, but I shouldn't have been. Corinne hasn't led me astray yet and I don't think she will.

Corinne simply never misses a beat. The Whitlock family has stolen my heart and I don't want it back. This book was just so fun!

Rowan and Charlotte's banter was an absolute masterpiece! I was giggling, sweating, and entertained by their banter throughout the entire book. Pristine. Rowan is your charming playboy who is honestly so sweet and caring. Charlotte is fiery, hardworking, and bold. The combination of those two together was EVERYTHING. I literally could not get enough of them.

Corinne turned up the heat in this one my friends. It was delicious and addicting with a side of funny. Perfection truly.

This storyline has to be one of my favorites from her. It had everything I could want in a book and more.

 Omgoshhhh! Corinne had me obsessed!
Charlotte and Rowan are my new favorite couple of this series! They are passionate, real and so good together. They start out really hating each other and I loved reading how they were trying to best each other.

"𝙒𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧."

After they end up stuck together in a cabin, their building tension and hate come to a boiling point and it was explosive and hot.
Charlotte and Rowan grew so much in this story. From their first interaction to their love confession that was so them, I ate every little thing up. The banter and spice were so good.
They are everything.

The Whitlock family dynamics is amazing to read about. And I can't wait for the next one!

Thank you to Valentine PR for this ARC of Tempting Promises by Corinne Michaels. All opinions are my own.

I’ve read some of Corinne’s previous books and really liked them. While I haven’t read the first two books in the Whitlock Family series, I still enjoyed this book.

This story had entertaining characters that didn’t always get along but really loved each other. I loved seeing how the Whitlock brothers interacted with each other and their families.

The tension between Charlotte and Rowan was so good, and they both had so much passion for each other and their jobs and hobbies.

This book is spicier than some of her other books I’ve read, so I did end up skimming those parts just because I’m not a fan of that much spice. If you like spice, then you’ll love this book.

Even though I haven’t read the other books in this series, this book alone made me love these characters, and I definitely could see myself going back to read the first two books.

There were so many scenes filled with sexual tension, but my favorite scenes were the ones where Rowan was being super sweet and thoughtful. While he was good at trying to hide those parts of himself, he really was such a kind and thoughtful friend.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend this book to those that like fun and spicy romances.
