Rowan Whitlock is the quintessential bachelor of Sugarloaf. He's been seeing his brothers dropping like flies and turning into sappy lovey-dovey puppies. Nope, not for him!
When he goes on a trip to a cabin with his friends, the worst thing that could happen is to share a room with Charlotte, his insufferable neighbor. To make matters worse, she goes hiking by herself, and gets stranded in a storm. It's just his luck that he is the one to find her, she is hurt with a badly sprained ankle, and he has to rescue her and take shelter in a nearby hunting cabin.
Charlotte is not having the best of luck. Her neighbor (and the man who broke her sister's heart, making her leave) has been driving her insane. He's not only hurt her sister but now he apparently can hurt her ability to save her home. And now, really?! She's stuck in a "murder cabin" with Rowan Whitlock? The worst part? They can't keep their hands (and other body parts) from each other. What happens in the cabin stays in the cabin. Period! No one mentions it again! Ever! It was a one time thing never to be spoken of again!
Yeah, right...
I love a good enemies to lovers and Corinne delivered! The banter oh the banter! Charlotte gives as good as she gets and Rowan doesn't know what hit him. I love how the story unfolds, how they recognize the attraction, then realize they always liked each other. You root for Charlotte from page 1 because this girl really needs a break and Rowan might just be everything she ever needed.
The whole family shows up and I can't have enough of the Whitlocks!
If you love enemies becoming lovers, good banter, brothers giving romantic advice, and nieces who put their uncle in their place, you'll love this! I did! Thanks to everyone who let me read this early.
Rep: Rowan's niece is Deaf
Possible triggers: mentions of loss of parents, financial insecurity, hiking injury

This series just keeps getting better and I’ve been waiting for Rowan’s book and it was sooo worth the wait. We saw glimpses of the hatred between Charlotte and Rowan in the previous books and I was so curious as to how they disliked each other because their anger is palpable and you just know there is something juicy in their backstory. There definitely was, you’ll have to read this to find out 😉 Fighting main characters in a romance equals amazing banter and Rowan and Charlotte’s back and forth sniping was everything. Tension like theirs also leads to some insane chemistry and they were explosive together in the most delicious way, talk about passion 🥵 If you haven’t started this serious what are you waiting for?! SO good, I adore the Whitlock family

I wasn't sure what to expect from Rowan Whitlock, but let me tell you 🔥🔥🔥

In this installment of the Whitlock series, youngest brother Rowan tangles with next-door neighbor Charlotte and things get hot pretty fast.  There's a bit of history between Rowan and Charlotte.  She has a smidgeon of animosity towards Rowan because she thinks he cheated on her sister Aurora.  But as they say, there is a fine line between love and hate and these two are almost professional tight-rope walkers.  But when they finally submit, I'm surprised they didn't burn down all of Sugarloaf.

I loved Rowan.  There was a part of me that identified with his sarcasm and loved him all the more for it.  His interactions with Olivia always left a smile on my face, along with his brothers and sisters.  But when he was with Charlotte, he went next level.  Yes, he was bossy (especially behind closed doors), but he always made sure Charlotte know he was supporting her and she could do whatever she put her mind to.

Charlotte on the other hand.  She was mean and witchy a lot of the time.  I get it, she was backing her sister, but was her sister really worth that blind loyalty?  I think my favorite part of the book was on page 133 (I wrote it down) when Charlotte realized she was a witch!  Half the battle is realizing it, Charlotte, so kudos to you.

As with the other books in this series, it was a great mix of fun times, smexy times with a little bit of angst sprinkled in.  This was the perfect weekend read.

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. i’m a sappy happy mess. i was consumed with everything charlotte and rowan.

charlotte and rowan hate each other. they’re rival farm owners and do everything to get under each others skin. you can cut the tension with a knife, and don’t even get me started on all their sexual tension, oh boy. they have outstanding banter and really know how to rile the other up. they may not like it, but the attraction they have for each other is electric. their chemistry is downright earth shattering, and they are so explosive together. the progression from enemies to then frenemies and then friends, and finally lovers was spectacular. i loved the deep connection charlotte and rowan formed. and when they finally put the hatred aside and saw what was right in front of them and for them to let their walls down allowing love in was truly beautiful.

tempting promises was enemies to lovers perfection! i ate this book up as if it was the matilda chocolate cake. i inhaled every page in one sitting, so freaking good. i was left swooning and smiling so hard. not gonna lie either, i was hit with the emotional punch corinne knows how to throw too. this book was just so damn fantastic. i’ll be basking in everything charlotte and rowan for awhile, especially waiting for the next book which i am jonesing for. i desperately need it. i can’t wait, i can’t wait, i can’t wait!

also, the audio was fantastic-freaking-tactic!

My obsession is real with this book! Corinne delivered BIG!

Rowan and Charlotte hate each other something fierce, but they can't stop the sexual tension that lights fire between them. The banter between these two is genius! I couldn't get enough of them. The sass on Charlotte and the grump on Rowan just made magic.

These two find themselves in a dangerous situation when the weather changes for the worse while they are out hiking (separately). They take shelter together in an abandoned cabin. This is where the banter shines and the spice turns up to full power. The second Rowan says ********* I combusted lol.

Thank you Corinne for bringing these two into the world!

I am one of the lucky ones to have received an arc of the 3rd book in the Whitlock series and I enjoyed it immensely.

This is a true enemies to lovers story where our main characters Charlotte and Rowan truly can’t stand each other. They are rivals in business and Rowan supposedly cheated on Charlotte’s sister.
But one hiking trail gone wrong and they were forced to wait out the (ice) storm in a cabin. Together. And it was a ice storm so they had to stay warm right?

This was filled with hate s*x, lots of ‘just one more time’ moments and banter. The sarcasm in this book made me laugh out loud. I really enjoyed reading their story oh and extra bonus - this book has a dirty talking cowboy.
