This is Corinne's strongest book yet and I am SO proud of this woman.
Tempting Promises is spicy and full of tension. Pair it with sweet and tender moments that make you teary eyed. It was one of those books that I simply COULD NOT PUT DOWN! I loved it from beginning to end.
The banter in this book... STELLAR. Corinne did a superb job at seriously convincing me that these two characters hated each other... and you know what comes in a hate to love romance ;). Or should I say "who comes" (spoiler alert: they both do)
The Whitlock Family series is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite series EVER!!!

Such an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers story with a big old dollop of forced proximity in there to kick off the s3xy times.
Charlotte has hated her neighbour Rowan for years after he (allegedly) cheated on her sister. Now she's stuck in a cabin with him in a snowstorm, and with a sprained ankle she's reliant on him to help her do everything. Their turbulent relationship boils over and things get heated in their shared sleeping bag but they initially pledge that what happens in the cabin, stays in the cabin. Except once home, they can't keep their hands to themselves, despite challenges to Charlotte's farm which lead them to compete for the same lucrative contract.
The snarky, witty banter is so much fun, and the enforced connection of several days stuck in the cabin with little food but lots of passion is sizzling - I wish there had been more of this as it all got a little less interesting once Charlotte and Rowan returned to real life.

I would also have liked to see Charlotte's sister get her comeuppance as she's a nasty spoilt brat.

FOUR POINT FIVE for Tempting Promises. I would have liked to have seen a TINY BIT more resolution with Charlotte and her sister, but no biggie.
Charlotte's disliked Rowan for years since she and everyone else in town think that he cheated on Charlotte's sister. Plus, they're neighbors but while he's got enough to manage his business, Charlotte's is sinking deeper by the day and she is hoping for a miracle to help her save the family farm.
Rowan is anti-relationship in any form that isn't "just for now". But as he and Charlotte find themselves trapped in a cabin during an ice storm, they have to find ways to a) not injure one another and b) stay warm- turns out the staying warm was the easiest part. And they don't want to give that up when they finally get back to their normal lives.
They argue but they find a respect for each other. And Charlotte's hoped for miracle falls through just when she and Rowan are realizing what they mean to each other. Rowan goes from never wanting to be in a committed relationship to fighting for Charlotte every day, until she finally realizes he's not going to leave her just because her life is hard (and she has always had too much pride to ask anyone for help).
The book is great, the audio is amazing.

oh my god this book was everything i wanted and needed and more! i don’t even know how to describe it. rowan and charlotte were givinggggg. omg the tension was so freaking thick and my god the spice!!! the enemies to lovers was spot on and it was done so well. despite hating each other rowan was so protective of charlotte and it was the sweetest thing ever. the way he would take care of her so many times despite knowing the position they were in
y’all. ‼️ I am formally declaring that I’m an enemies to lovers junkie after that Sugarloaf tug of warrrrrr.
