Listen, I give her a lot of crap (don't worry...she dishes it right back to me) but truth be told....this is my absolutely favorite of the series. I loved every single second of this book...I did audio this go round and I just couldn't get over how freakin good it was!
Basically, I miss them already! I feel a reread in my future, for sure. And let it be on record, I will take ZERO criticism on my bebe, Rowan. He was aboslute perfection and I love him with my entire soul. And Charlotte was just made for him. Listening to these two fall for each other is my favorite past time.
And let us not forget that this book was dedicated to me....so ya know....it's like kismet that they're my favorite...because they were written for me....because I'm Corinne's favorite and she cannot live without me. I mean, that's how I read it. ;)
But seriously...I love you big and how big of a smartass you are. We are the best. Congrats on this book, friend. It's superb and perfect and everything anyone could ever hope for.

“They say there’s a thin line between love and hate, what do you say we figure out what side we’re on?” I already know. There’s no reason in the world I should love this woman. She’s frustrating, tempting, exasperating, beautiful, never wrong because she’s incapable of believing it’s even possible, and yet, I’m falling in love with her."
I freaking love this family and I am so bummed there is only one book left in this series! Rowan and Charlotte's story was such a fun one to read, but I am a sucker for enemies to lovers. And dare I say it's a smidgen of grumpy sunshine?
Tropes:
-Small Town
-Enemies to Lovers
-Forbidden Romance
-Reformed Playboy
-Forced Proximity
-Only One Sleeping Bag
I loved how Rowan saw right through all of Charlottes walls and in doing so broke right through his own. As always, this story is spicy, heart wrenching and filled with so much love.
"You can choose to fight alone, that’s fine, but I’m asking you to let me stand beside you so when you’re fucking exhausted, you can lean on me.”

Corinne always delivers heartfelt emotion, epic swoons, and the most charming characters. The Whitlock family is pinnacle Corinne Charm. I can not get enough of this delicious and endearing family! Tempting Promises is a complete delight. Enemies to lovers meets small town meets snowed in magic. Gah, I swooned and sighed and fell so hard.
Rowan. OH MY. This man is so delicious, and he's trying real hard to take my top hero spot. His enemies to lovers tension with his neighbor Charlotte is just chef's kiss. Corinne builds the perfect dynamic between them- still light and fun but also intense. And their banter is off the charts. I love how Rowan gets under Charlotte's skin, how these two push each other's buttons. It makes the heat between them palpable, and when things get smexy, it's explosive!
I love the snowed in/only one bed (here only one SLEEPING BAG LOL)- it takes the already close proximity of these two to the next level. But I loved most of all when they melted (pun intended). Seeing Rowan care for Charlotte, seeing them fall and their feelings evolve. The chemistry evovles naturally and sweetly. Adored them together.
I can't believe we're at the end of the series- with only one book left. But I can't wait for Brynlee's story next!

The Whitlock Family series is literally my favorite series by Corinne. Tempting Promises is book three in the series and is Rowan and Charlotte's story. I think...no I know this is my favorite book and I just love Rowan.
I am a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope and Corinne did it justice! I was waiting for Rowan's story, and I devoured it. The banter between Charlotte and Rowan was so palpable and I was here for it. Both of them really know how to rile the other one up.
Corinne really knows how to write the spicy scenes, and this was no exception. Rowan and Charlotte have undeniable chemistry and it is so explosive when they're together.
Releasing February 22, 2024. I highly recommend reading this and while this could be read as a standalone in my opinion, I will always recommend this series.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I think that this story would have been a lot more engaging if there was a bigger focus on the couple being snowbound together. The blurb makes it seem like this is the dominant part of the story, but in reality it takes up very little time. Rowan and Charlotte supposedly hate each other because Rowan treated Charlotte's sister horribly in a bad breakup. But, it turns out, that didn't happen at all. Rowan is actually a pretty nice guy. Charlotte has been totally wrong about him. This could have been a great story about two people spending the time to really get to know each other while forced together through a snowstorm. It could have been interesting. But instead it seems like this was a story about two people who obviously click spending the entire book throwing out reasons why they shouldn't be together. ((yawn)) There was way too much emphasis on the physical relationship, and it got pretty boring. There was also this side story involving Charlotte and her sister that was super weak. There is tension and dysfunction in that relationship, but it was glossed over, and it seemed like it was important enough that it should have been fleshed out a bit more. Another missed opportunity.
This is book three in the Whitlock Family series. I have not read the first two books. I don't think you need to have read those first books, but there are obviously back stories involving two other brothers that we are missing. Maybe the story would have been enhanced if I knew that. As it was ... well, it was okay. Nothing extraordinary. Two stars.
