3.5 stars rounded up. This one was a bit of a struggle for me. I had a hard time caring about the plot or staying engaged until the last 75 ish pages. Knowing the MC was from the Stormlight books kept me curious, and I usually love everything Sanderson writes, but this one just didn’t hit the same way.

That said, it is BrandoSando, so of course the ending picks up and delivers. The worldbuilding and magic system were cool, as always. It just didn’t pull me in the way his stories usually do. Not bad, just not my favorite.
