It was fine. I guess.

I didn't expect much honestly. Books that are THAT hyped  everywhere on social media usually don't live up to it. And this was the case with this too.

I'd say that I like Ava as a FMC. I love her personality because I can relate to it, and I think that her childhood trauma was brought to the reader well.
I also loved the dynamics of the friend group, although it's actually a little too unrealistic for my taste. I mean, a princess, a lawyer, an influencer, and a rich kid? Sorry but that's a little too much fiction for me. I really liked how much we got to know about each side character tho. We got to know them, but I feel like the information didn't take anything away from the other books.

Now let's talk about Alex. While I really really liked him and his pov, a few things really went on my nerves. For one, how his character felt over-done sometimes. Like we get it, you are cold hearted and don't care about anyone and anything and you think lowly of everyone else, but it feels like that's the only thing we know about him. Please, what is his personality like? What does he like, enjoy, hate? What's his favourite color, food, ice cream flavor? Just give us some details so that we can get to know him more. I know it doesn't fit the way his character is supposed to be portrayed, but it made me feel a lot of apathy towards him. Also, his obsession with sex? Like I get it, you want to have intimate moments with the woman you love, but really? It felt like all they did after they got together was fuck. That's probably why I enjoyed the first part of the book more, where we got witty banter, small touches and other things that made me swoon over Alex.

Another thing I really didn't like was how they resolved their conflict.
First of all. You're telling me that Alex didn't talk to Ava for six months but then went to London and courted her for A YEAR??
Also, something that really really upset me was: they had a really important talk at the exhibition and afterwards they immediately fucked? For me, it felt unnatural. Like if that was me I'd just want to have dinner, talk, cuddle, and watch a movie, yk? The whole relationship just felt very sex-orientated.

I feel like that the biggest problem of the book is that Ana Huang just tries to  tell the reader a lot of things, but she's scared she can't portray them in the way she wants to do she overdoes them to make sure everyone gets it.

Overall, it was just fine ig. Not special but not horrible. Idk yet if I'll pick up the next book or not. We'll see.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into this series but this book was phenomenal. The plot twists were ones I was completely not expecting and Ana managed to make me feels things throughout the entire book I was not pleasantly surprised for. The ups and downs on Alex and Ava’s relationship are heartbreaking but seeing the hard shell soft inside guy develop is amazing

Closed Door Mods: Chapter 22, Chapter 24 (some parts), Chapter 26 (some parts), Chapter 43 (some parts)

Not going to lie, this book is a bit intense, but it works (highly recommend checking out content warnings before deciding to read this). Twisted Love almost felt more romantic thriller to me since there are a lot of thriller aspects in the book, but this book kept me glued to my Kindle screen and had me to the very last page.

Really good dynamics between Ava and Alex and I liked how Huang took time to explore Alex’s moral greyness. I'm currently reading another one of her works (King of Pride) and I really like Huang's writing style when it comes to these complex characters and their relationships with others. Also, if you’re a fan of groveling in romance books, Huang has so much of that in Twisted Love. Read if you want a dark, grumpy x sunshine romance that has a similar vibe to a romantic thriller.

This book felt like ‘The Godfather’ written by a Wattpad author.

Anna is the queen of romance! I loved this book it was so good. This was my first book with dark romance themes and I loved it. The characters are great and the story line was so different from a lot of the typical romance books you read. It’s got a ton of amazing tropes too like grumpy X sunshine, brothers best friend, hints of one bed, protective. Amazing amazing
