Took me a few chapters to get into but by the end, I can't wait to reread and dissect. Absolutely incredible book. I can't possibly say anything better than what others have. But I have so many feelings.

Although I didn’t really understand all of it, it was a good book to read. Glad it was all in one book rather than 12 individual comics.

I've gone to two gaming conferences this month and this book is everywhere. Having seen the trailer and since I've heard of Alan Moore's other works, I wanted to get my hands on a copy, saw it for $cheap$ at costco and dived in. Neil Gaiman is credited and I haven't read his Sandman series, but I do love his novels.

I'm not a fan of graphic novels or DC comics or superheros. I was more of the Richie Rich/Betty & Veronica comic fan as a child and the only adult series I read was Hate comics. After reading some of Michael Chabon's works and spending time at gaming cons this summer, I've become more interested in the comic genre.

Plus, I liked the movies Sin City and 300, despite their obvious flaws.
I read this book in a day, couldn't put it down, exciting, compelling and new (for me, at least). There is something meta about this story, while it maintains your suspension of belief at the same time there is a second commentary about comics, their history, the superhero motif in modern culture. I'm sure the comic book historians can pick out more themes than I, but there are shout outs, tip offs, bows to the past. I'm glad I read the Adventures of Kavalier and Clay prior to this because it made the novel resound on many more levels.

The bottom line is that it's a rollicking good story, fun to read and hard to put down. I can't add anything on the art side as I don't know from comic book artist, but in the end I felt that I had read something with heft and volume, surprising to me that so much is revealed in pictures and not prose.

Absolute masterpiece. Best comic book I've ever read and among my favourite reads ever. Probably gonna watch a bunch of analysis YouTube videos to make sure I didn't miss anything, which I'm sure I did. Everyone should read this.
