Story: Amazing. Illustrations: Beautiful. Representation: Insanely Creative. This was honestly one of my most favorite reads so far this year. I highly recommend as they way it gives a regular superhero story but ties back to the Cold War is super interesting. Some parts were a little boring to read or hard to understand but that was only a small fraction of the book.

Cool

Almost went to 3 stars because of issue #12, but decided to be generous.

It was super interesting and unlike anything I’ve read. It was really interesting to unwind the interpersonal mysteries and connections between the members of the super groups. I have mixed feelings about the actual ending, but I think that’s how I’m supposed to feel. 3.5 stars

goddamnit this book is amazing. my personal favorite aspect of all the “turning tropes upside down” is adrian having already gone through with his plan as the others find out

Objectively speaking, the comic is actually really good. I very much appreciate the message conveyed and how Alan Moore did it before the trend of making morally gray superheroes happened. Howeverrr this was tedious asf. I’m sorry but it’s not my type of comic genre and I dreaded how long and difficult to understand it was. Still, I’m looking forward to do my essay on Laurie, I think her character is super interesting!
