Didn't think I would cry. Definitely cried.
Lydia M. Sigwarth tells the true story of her time experiencing homelessness as a child and the librarian with the "kind eyes and laugh like bubbles" who made her feel like the library was home. It's a beautiful reminder of the impact we can have every day with our patrons. There truly is enough space at the library for everyone.

As someone who works in a library, this story is so sweet! It just shows you how important libraries and librarians are! This was such a good read, and my daughter really enjoyed it.
This is a cute story for school-aged kids.

Really cute and heartwarming story - I hope i'm this librarian for someone. The authors note is especially nice and they did end up finding their librarian that helped changed their life and bring them into a welcoming place!
The library makes me feel rich too!

I really can relate to the feelings..... specifically when I lost all my friends at a time suddenly, before they reached me lol later, I have huge problem, I'm depressed, and feeling lonely even there are "friends" not being "friends". Then, the library gives me home. The funny part is the library is more private, so there is no fun part as well as the book mentioned such puppet show, or twittering w/ friends, etc. Before social media rising as nowadays, books are already beside me. I know I was late bloomer, bcs I'm starting loving book while I'm adulting.

I don't often write down the picture books I read. I don't think reading Give a Mouse a Cookie, Sleep Train, or any of the other books I read to my grandchildren count for my reading log. But this book was just for me.
I hope that when I was working for the public library we created a home for many people, especially children. We never served a large homeless population, but we did try to make our buildings welcoming spaces.
When I was a child, I could walk to my public library and I always felt at home. Which has something to do with why I became a public librarian.
Thank you to the creators of this book.
