Morgan is a cable TV talk show host. She wants to do a show about kinky sex and hooks up with Jack to talk about a D/s relationship.
Jack, bodyguard by day, Dominant by night is pleased to give Morgan some insight into his world.
When it's clear Morgan's life is in danger, Jack takes protection of her and hides away at his cabin in the bayou.
What do you know, he's got a play room in the cabin!
Jack and Morgan's attraction is instant. They have that special chemistry people wish for on a daily basis. But Jack has his own personal reason's why he really wants to get Morgan into his bed.
Morgan is new into the kinky sex and she has fantasies that Jack wants to fulfill, until he learns of one in particular...a threesome. Jack's history makes it hard for him to be with someone that wants another man in her bed, even if it's only once.
The sex is great. The attraction instant. Their connection unfathomable.
A great start to the Wicked Lovers series.

What a yummy read! it had everything in it, A crazy ass stalker who happened to be her ex-boyfriend, Bdsm, menage, Lottttttts of steamy sex. and the end was HEA!!!!! I'm defnitely going to continue the rest of the series. on to book #2 now....
After finish reading the current available books of Masters of the Shadowlands, I wanted to see if there are other great Erotica/light BDSM books to read. Since the reviews for this book were pretty positive, I thought I give it a try.
Well, the beginning of this book should've tick me off. I give it a couple chapters and decided to return this to Amazon (kindle).

This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't really up my alley either. It had a decent suspense element, and a well written erotic element, but something about it just felt off for me.
Jack was a jerk for most of the book, due to his revenge plot, but at the same time I could see him caring for Morgan more and more. I wanted to see more of his friends and family than I did, and I was very intrigued by his "curse".
Morgan was a complex heroine, though I didn't care for how much she kept holding back from what she truly wanted. Her stalker was a bit of a red herring twist at the end and I was surprised by the revelations there. I also admired her for wanting to move past all the hurtful things her ex had said to her.
All things considered, this is more of a 2.5 star book for me, and not a 3, but it also leaves me unsure if I would continue the series.

Hated the narration. Maybe I'll try again not-in-audio.

Excuse my language right now by what the fuck did I just read?
Okay, so some of you may know that if I get into a book slump, I like to read trashy erotica. It's a nice palette cleanser because let's be honest, everything is gold after this. I'm not in a book slump right now, but I did just finish up a pretty heavy series that has been some part of my life for years. With that ending, I needed something mindless and trashy to get me out of the book hangover of Throne of Glass ending. I've honestly just been wandering around the house lost haha.
I got about 20% through this book and was just absolutely disgusted. Not because of the sex scenes. I knew picking this up what it would be about. I'm fully capable of reading smut without fainting. But this? Wow, was this rapey.
Basically there's this girl who hosts a sex talk show. Her show got renewed for a new season and she wants to start the season with some BDSM talk. Since she's some innocent little lamb, she finds a guy who is well-versed in the bondage and meets with him. Oh, she also has a stalker who has follower her across the country and is losing his mind because she talks to other men. Of course.
She meets with this dude, who is of course the perfect male specimen, (like seriously, can we be realistic here? Someone write some smut about an average guy who makes $10/hr and has a receding hairline or something) and the stalker shows up and starts shooting her because how DARE SHE SPEAK TO ANOTHER MALE. Hunky Sleezebag saves her and drags her into a strip club to hide out. There they meet his stripper friend Debbie McBigBoobs and decide "Oh! We will dress you up like her so we can sneak you out! Everyone around here is used to seeing Sleezebag and Boobs McGhee out fondling each other in public, so that's perfect!" So they get her all strippered up.
So naturally, to get her "used to his touch" he basically assaults her while she's standing there in a bra and thong. She repeatedly said "no, this is weird and unnecessary" but that just like made him push harder. Hi? That's rape. Kthanksbye.
I couldn't believe it! Like, is this what sells? I get the whole "I would never do BDSM myself but it's fun to read about" but what woman thinks "wow I don't want to be raped, but reading about some hot dude in a book assaulting a woman? DAMN!"
I realize this book came out in 2007, well before the Me Too movement, but come on. A woman wrote this. A WOMAN WAS COOL WITH RAPE SCENES AND MAKING IT SOUND HOT.
This was one of the highest-rated erotica books on Goodreads and it got a 5 star rating from a reviewer I see quite frequently who is EXTREMELY picky. So, what the hell? I'm just floored that this was even published. And to top it all off, the sleezebag was only interested in her for some revenge he wanted against some other dude. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!?!
I give up. Someone suggest something so I can wipe the stain of this trash out of my memory.

I love Morgan so much. Yeah, she had moments where I just can't help screaming at her, but for the most part she was headstrong, independent and just really entertaining: the perfect package deal.
Hindi ko na talaga mapigilan sarili ko. Nung nalaman ko na Jack Cole ang buong pangalan ni Jack, natawa ako. So immature, ugh. I know.
Not much of a review but whatever.
*throws confetti* Here's to firsts and for more to come!
