Sex pact. Sorta enemies to lovers. Brenna & Rye aggravate the crap out of each other. She once had a crush on him but her cousin, his band mate warned him away. So because, boy, he said some terrible things and hurt her.
Rye overhears Brenna talking to a friend about wanting to find a partner for good sex. Not necessarily a relationship just someone to meet her needs without awkwardness.
Lots of drama and bonding and catching feelings.
Solid addition but nothing can beat Scottie.

Oh, I loved this!!!
I have read and loved this entire series and Brenna and Rye have been dancing around each other in all the other books - so the build up has already been there. The tension is crazy intense, and I am here for it!
Brenna and Rye have teased and argued and avoided for years... but why? Ohhhh we find out and it's so worth the wait.
I love how the book starts with surface level issues but it doesn't stay there. Everything is deeper than it looks at first. Their feelings, their hurts, their insecurities and it was so lovely to read. As with Kristen's other books I feel like she does a great job at exploring deeper emotions and getting to the heart of what is really going on with the characters.
These two go through a lot together, in the past and the present. This book takes you on a journey and the ending. OH THE ENDING. It is so satisfying. I throughly enjoyed everything about this book.
Frenemies to Lovers, steamy goodness, banter, running from feelings, vulnerability, hurt and comfort, and did I mention how hot it was? So so so good!!!

These two slay me. They’ve been frenemies for so long, hurting each other and pining each other over the years. A sex pact (yes!) brings them together, and I loved the way they navigated their history as they built a relationship. Rye is a real cinnamon roll, and Brenna’s learns to shed her tough exterior to let him in. A regular reread for me!

When I started this one I was sure I'd write a review (so much to say) as I did for the others, but now that I've finished and it took me such a long time my will to write a review has passed. So here goes: it was a nice read.

3.5 stars for this book.
this entire series was 4 stars for me though the second and third books were perfect

Overall, very enjoyable. I waited so long for this book, and the wait was absolutely rewarded. I read one review that said there wasn't much plot. I take issue with that: there might not have been much "action," but there was plenty of plot. And the ending was handled perfectly, not a wrong note to be found.
My only caveat, but it wasn't enough to lower it a star, is that there are many, many sex scenes (which I don't mind). But they are all written in first person, which can be tricky, especially if you're using prose verging on the purple. I have never once thought about my own alabaster thighs during sex. It was a little disconcerting. When it was Rye's point of view, it was better, but Brenna's point of view was a bit awkward in places.
