When I started reading Conflicted, it gave me the same vibes that I felt while reading Devil's Mark (the book that made me fall in love with Lark’s writing): Gosh, this is amazing, I love these characters, I love the world-building, I cannot get enough of it! Now top that with a generous serving of cameos, some delicious angst and you have a fantastic first book of her new series, the Hopeless Blessed.
Enemies to Lovers is my favorite trope and Lark only improved this by adding some wings. She created two intriguing characters who truly hate each other … until they cannot any longer, until they open their eyes, work through their prejudice and truly get to know each other. You experience this with them, peeling back layer after layer until you see what is in the deepest part of their hearts. Micah, the most (!) powerful angel will surprise you time and time again, breaking your heart in the process. He lost so much and sacrificed even more. And Nox, the cocky demon who cannot stop flirting for the life of him, who is supposed to be bad to the bone, has depths that you cannot imagine and can be so tender and protective it’ll absolutely melt your heart. These guys find excuse after excuse to spend time together … until there is no hiding their feelings and no hiding from the world anymore. That ending was an absolute blast in every way! I cannot wait to see how the rest of the angels will find their mates! Conflicted can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend starting with The Reckless Damned series for the first introduction of Micah and Nox (and all the great cameo characters).

I was fortunate to have received a copy of this book from the author, and this is my honest review.

Wow. I have never read a book by Lark and I was immediately impressed by this amazing storyline. From the moment I started reading it, I honestly just couldn’t put it down. It was just that good.
Micah and Nox were so freaking cute. The fact that they were both stubborn made the story so much better.
Their first time together was so steamy and spicy and I knew it would only get better.
What I really loved was how Nox was so there for Micah when he’s really never had anyone be in his corner together. Nox was everything that Micah needed and then some. I love how different these two were but were so perfect together!
I absolutely sobbed when Nox found Micah’s scars because it was that moment that I knew he loved his mate and wouldn’t be able to give him up. When he went to avenge the angel that hurt him, I was overjoyed because Micah has never ever had anyone love him this deeply or this much.
What I really loved was how the Seraphim told them how they really felt about Micah and how he could always come to them and how they would always go with him if the higher ups called him. Such love right there.
What I cannot wait is for the next book to see Ez’s story because that’s going to be so worth it.

Going into this, I didn't expect how much I would end up loving Micah. Nox? Yes, that was obvious to me from the very first time he appeared on page, but Micah tho... That was another story altogether. But then I started reading the prologue of Conflicted and I was hooked instantly. I think this book might be my favorite from this universe so far; I absolutely adore both our protagonists and Micah had no right being so relatable!
(Also, I really hope we get to have a book about Quill at some point. I don't care whether he's paired with a cereal bowl, the mailman or God herself, I really just want more of him)
