This book was so good! I loved every minute of Micah and Nox’s story. There really is a thin line between hate and love. These two will make you fall as hard for them as they did for each other. There are several obstacles in the way, but Micah and Nox find their HEA. There’s lots of denial, some vulnerability, top tier possessiveness, and a seriously strong physical and emotional connection. (I’m also glad Micah and Dimitri cleared the air).

Also, in no particular order - I need to know what’s going on with Quill, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel now.

"Ours wasn’t some grand love story, but a doomed tragedy."

Micah has just had his heart broken on the shores of Hell when fate shines a light on his fated mate. After having his entire life dictated by others and a love that went unreciprocated, Micah is in no mood to give into his bond. Nox has just fought his way out of Hell to find that what's he's been searching for all these years is the uptight leader of Heaven's mightiest unit. Neither of them want anything to do with each other, but they can't stay away either. When fighting gets to be too hard, they give into their baser needs for some hate-fueled hookups. But soon it becomes clear that what they really need is just each other.

"With him, I wasn’t a leader. I wasn’t an angel. I didn’t have to worry about anything else. For the first time in my supposedly blessed existence, I was just myself."

Y'all this might just be my new favorite book from Lark Taylor. Micah broke my heart and had me shedding tears from page one. He's always been seen as the stereotypical angel. He's powerful, strong and he's got that arrogance that comes with all that. But beneath the surface is a man who's protective and loyal to those he cares for and is just dying to be loved and wanted for who he is.

"I wasn’t sure when Nox had stopped being my enemy and instead become the air I needed to breathe."

When fate steps in and puts Nox in his path, he fights that connection with everything he has and Nox is of the same mindset. But when they look past the bond and get to know each other for who they are, they end up falling in love not because fate said so, but because they choose to. Of course, it's never as easy as just choosing love. They have to fight the forces of Heaven itself but they've got some strong allies who just want them to be happy. It's not easy by any means, but Micah and Nox earn that HEA and I'm so glad for it!

“I won’t tell you I love you more than anything I’ve loved before because, if I’m being honest, I’ve never loved anything or anyone before.”

This book has everything I want from an enemies to lovers romance. First of all, they're an angel and a demon so not only are they forbidden, but there's also that innate hatred between them. And that transition from hate to lust to love is so good, especially cause all that tension that's there in the beginning never leaves. It just grows until it's all encompassing and they become each other's safe space. It was so beautiful to see the way Nox became a soft landing spot for Micah where he could feel free for the first time in his life. And don't even get me started on my favorite parts, the hurt/comfort moments that absolutely wrecked me. They had me crying buckets of tears but they also hit all the right emotional notes for me. The need to avenge their partner's hurts (the "who did this to you moment" was top notch!) and protecting them from anybody who tries to hurt them was so well done. There's not one thing I felt was missing in this story.

"Micah was the home I’d been searching for. The home I’d never thought I’d find."

As always, this book introduced us to some amazing new characters and brought back some old ones. I'm so intrigued by the entire Seraphim unit and Nox's cohort of demons. I can't wait to read their stories and watch them find love! But until then, I'm going to stay here with Micah and Nox as they finally get the chance to just openly love each other and be happy together.

I loved everything about this book. It really hit all my favorite tropes. Enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, and angel x demon is my favorite PNR characters.

And it was well done and well written. Lark really brought the emotion for me with Micah. I was invested in him finding happiness. He is so powerful, commander of Heaven’s elite, but so solitary at the same time. Plagued by intrusive thoughts, feeling screwed over by fate. “That was okay. No one ever wanted me. I was used to it.”

Nox was the trouble Micah needed. He gave him the space to be himself, to let loose, not be in control, to be taken care of like he takes care of everyone else.

The storyline of Micah and Nox’s forbidden relationship had me hooked from start to finish. The push/pull, the hate to love, the emotional journey and the politics of angel/demon fated mates and heaven and hell. There were several parts where I wondered, how are they going to get out of this?

I adored reading how they realize the depth of their feelings for each other, their commitment to fight for each other, for their love. For their right to be together. And the icing on the cake for me was the loyalty that is revealed at the end (IYKYK). It was so heartwarming, it had me cheering.

I think this may be one of my favorite enemies to lovers books. Cheers!

Heaven - you got some ‘splaining to do!! If this is how you treat your people, I’m gonna stick with the Demons. Or maybe help them organize a Union.

Heaven certainly doesn’t deserve Micah. He broke my heart. I’m a sucker for a character who doesn’t feel like they're enough, pins for someone who doesn’t feel the same and sacrifices their own well-being for others.

But fate pairing him with a Demon…priceless.

Nox is a menace when bored and wants attention but he makes me mushy with his protectiveness and morals. I love the impact he has on Micah. And of course how they fall in love.

I’m completely stoked for the others in this series. The other characters are compelling and I think there is going to be a lot of drama to come.

Conflicted is the book 1 in the Hopeless Blessed series and my first book by this author. It's an enemies-to-lovers / MM / Paranormal romance that I enjoyed and read in one sitting.

This is Micah and Nox's fated mates romance and their story was a forbidden one, as Angels and Demons are not supposed to fall in love.

There was alot happening in this novel but we are taken on quite a journey with these two sworn enemies, as we get to see how their relationship evolved.

The enemies-to-lovers aspect was well written, as Micah and Nox can’t stand each other, but they also can’t seem to stay away from one another. I enjoyed seeing them slowly fall for each other, as they were perfect together.

They were supported by a great cast of secondary characters who all caught my interest. They gave us witty banter and helped move the story forward.

This novel was quite emotional and I did tear up a time or two. We get tension, longing, angst, secrecy, steam and some heavenly political intrigue and so much more. This was a fantastic start to this new series and I can't wait for more book in this universe. I would definitely recommend this novel.
