PNR + Enemies to Lovers + Forbidden Romance between an angel and a demon? I’m so here for it! Micah and Nox’s story was complicated and angsty and I enjoyed it so much.

Micah and Nox are opposites in almost every way, so when they realize their fated mates, they try to ignore the pull toward each other but end up mixed up with each other time and time again. Their relationship is technically forbidden, but fate clearly had something else to say, so they’re fighting an uphill battle every minute once they stop avoiding each other. I wasn’t sure what to expect for these two and their story, but Lark took us somewhere totally unexpected and so perfect for them.

The angst and twists and turns kept me on my toes and so invested in these two holding on to the little bits of happiness they’d found in each other. Even when things got really dark, I was holding my breath and fighting back tears while waiting for everything to work itself out. Their banter and their unique brand of love made me smile - Micah and Nox are each other’s biggest protectors (unaliving as a love language…so great) while still also leading a heavenly army and causing all kinds of chaos. But they also help each other to see that angels and demons really aren’t all that different even though they’ve been made to think that all along.

If this is the kind of story we can expect from the rest of the Hopeless Blessed stories about the rest of the unattached Seraphim, sign me up! I feel like this book had a lot of overarching storyline setup for the series, so can’t wait for more about this group of angel badasses. And, as always, love the cameos from all of our Lark Taylor faves from the past!

Lark did it again she wrote an absolute amazing book. I loved every second of it. I also buddy read it with my best friend which made it even more epic.
This one follows Micah the angel as he finds his happy ending. His old crush Dimitrie found his own mates and so Micah needs to move on. After figuring out Nox the demon is his fated mate he tries to ignore him. But Nox is making it more difficult than it should be by making a mess topside. Micah can’t believe he got a demon as fated mates as they are forbidden of being together due to them being natural enemies. But fate clearly has other plans.
This book was absolutely amazing. The fact that they both start out not wanting to be in a relationship just made the angst even better. It also included my fave trope “Who did this to you?” And the scene absolutely destroyed me. Lark why do you keep doing this aka please never stop. Nox was absolutely amazing in this book his sass and attitude is really something and I loved it. Micah my baby has been through so much and I was so glad he finally got someone in his corner. He really needed that.
If you are looking for a queer paranormal, demon/angel romance this book is something for you! Be sure to check out Lark’s other amazing series too!
Thanks to Lark Taylor for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The ANGST! Oh baby... The ANGST! This book is so so so so good. I couldn't put it down. I haven't read the previous book that Micah was linked in, and you don't need to, Lark has a cute wee prologue and BOOM, all you need. The way these two pretend to loath each other while simultaneously creating situation after situation to run into each other, while also giving every excuse under the sun as to why it had to be them.  They were living for the brief moments banter they shared, living for the heated moments that came after. Ugh, just top tier! You just want to cuddle Micah and protect him and then watch him be the biggest, baddest angel there is.  When he was showing his power to the fullest, hot damn, I was right there agreeing with Nox, that shit was hot. Also, I don't think I've mentioned the piercings, this book has ALL the good piercings, yes please, thank you, I appreciate you Lark! The part I really enjoyed about this book was, there was a really good, clear and legitimate reason for these two not to be together, and they both understood it, their time together was fragile and limited. And it just gives me chills to think about it. The prejudice is so real and believable, their upbringings and past experiences have tainted so much for them. Lark writes paranormal stories with such real human experience, that's why it's so compelling to read. It's so believable.  I'm relatively new to Larks writing I've only read two of her other books, but wow! I just can't wait to read more.

Lark Taylor, once again, making me sob uncontrollably from the prologue. Conflicted is everything you'd expect from a demon/angel romance, with the Lark twist that leaves you with a happily ever after and a bucket of tears.

Having read all the previous books, I couldn't really imagine loving Micah and his story, and I'm telling you  now, I STAND CORRECTED. I've never met a character with more self-loathing than Micah. I wanted to hug him so much, bless his heart.

Micah is the leader of the Seraphim. The angels. He's absolutely brokenhearted [from redacted] and knows that no one will ever choose him. He decides to dedicate his existence to the Seraphim. He will never love again.

Nox is finally topside from hell. He is ready to live his life. He has his friends and his mayhem for company. He absolutely does not want his mate. But this pulling... is leading him somewhere.

There were so many times throughout this story that I was crying. For both Micah and Nox. It was emotional as hell. For reasons I'm leaving [redacted], I don't want to spoil the story!

This is the kind of enemies to lovers I like. They aren't really enemies. They aren't MEAN to each other. They act like they are, but they really aren't.

And bless them both. Honestly. Nox is something really special. Bravado with a sin-namon roll ✨️get it! Wink wink✨️ center - he sees how important the Seraphim is to Micah, and he is determined to give Micah every happiness. To be his home. I could wax poetic about it, but I don't have the space.

Outside of the incredible romance, we get new characters. Found family vibes like crazy. Storylines that are popping off. Familiar faces. Old deals and new ones. And two characters that are determined to protect each other - no matter what.

I will say this, and I don't think it's a spoiler:
Fuck Emilio.

CONFLICTED comes out September 26th. I loved Micah and Nox and can't wait to see who falls next! Break my heart again, Lark!

“I wasn’t sure when Nox had stopped being my enemy and instead become the air I needed to breathe.”

Angel y Demonio.

(ENG) As is often the case with the start of a series, Lark exceeds expectations and leaves us eager to read the books of all the characters we've just met! In this case, there are quite a few.
This first book is about Micah and Nox, who we met in Luck of the Devil. Angel and Demon. They're as different as night and day, but fate has brought them together. No matter how much they fight against it, they'll find it impossible not to give in to the attraction they feel for each other. And from then on, it's all fire. Get ready to read one of the most explosive couples Lark has ever created. If you like piercings, "touch him and die", possessive and protective relationships, and more, you'll love this.
As with all of Lark's books, there are plenty of tears and smiles. There's also a political plot that I think will develop throughout the series and is very interesting.
A great way to kick off the series – I highly recommend it!

💜 I'm so grateful to The Author Agency and the author for sending me the eArc of this book! 💜

When you’re fated to be with the enemy, so you rim him and woo him (and unalive for him) until he falls for you.

OK, I’m the first to admit that I was not actually excited about this one because Micah was such a dick in previous books. I really didn’t know if even the great Lark Taylor could get me to like him and once again I was 100% wrong. Lark Taylor is our queen and I should never have doubted her.

I fell for these characters so hard. They might be up there with Ferry and Leo for favorite couple. I loved the premise of this story. I loved the gradual falling in love. I loved the (not so gradual) spice. I loved absolutely everything about it. Although I will say it made me hate bureaucracy more than I already did, which I did not think was possible. I cannot wait for future books so that we can see a certain antagonist meet the bloody end they so richly deserve.

A five star book. Highly recommend.

Like all Lark Taylor books in this universe, you technically could read it by itself because it’s book one of a new series but I would highly suggest you start way back at the beginning with the Reckless Damned series and follow that up with Damned Connections before starting this one.

Micah’s just an archangel, Nox’s just a demon, can I make it any more obvious? (IYKYK)

They’d both kind of like to say, “See ya later, boy,” because these two groups aren’t supposed to mingle. For the demons it’s just because angels are uptight and selfish. The angels, though? Well, they have a lot of rules, and getting close to demons isn’t exactly kosher.

The thing is, when Micah and Nox’s eyes met across the battleground inside of Hell, fate went boom and did her fated mates thing. To the leader of Heaven’s most powerful fighting force and a chaotic demon who’s always felt a pull to go above and just can’t stop wanting to have a good time now that he’s here. Yikes.

Conflicted is the first entry in the Hopeless Blessed series, which is a spin-off series from both her Reckless Damned series and her Damned Connections series. Reading the previous two series isn’t an absolute must to enjoy Conflicted, but as a fervid Lark Taylor fan and someone who has read all of her current catalog (including Caffeine Daydreams, which has a very tenuous tie to the Damned Connections series and therefore this series), I highly recommend reading both series before tackling Conflicted. If you want a short cut to the material that’s most important to know in order to understand Conflicted better, then I recommend Luck of the Devil (Reckless Damned, Book 4) and Patience (Damned Connections, Book 1).

(For Lark Taylor fans: Conflicted seems to take place maybe concurrently with Humility (Damned Connections, Book 4)? I’m not looking directly at the text right now, but I think that’s right.)

With Lark Taylor’s books, the first book sets the tone for the rest of the series as well as introduces the overarching plot line. Conflicted follows this tradition, introducing us to the demons who were allowed to move above to the mortal plane as part of a deal with Lucifer and his sons. These five demons are suffering from some anxiety and psychological issues from the abrupt change in scenery, as well as finding challenges in how to keep themselves “fed” when they’re not constantly surrounded by sin.

There’s also a whole lot of hinky stuff going on in Heaven, but I think I’ll leave that up to you to find out.

As always, Lark’s stories never fail to be smokin’ hot, and the spice scenes do not disappoint. Micah and Nox are also very sweet and silly with one another, which got me kicking my feet a little. It was adorable. They’re cute, they’re funny, and then they know when to shut up and throw down. That’s hot. They’re both the definition of, “Don’t touch what’s mine,” and I’m here for it.
