This was different than a normal read for me but was so enjoyable. The struggle that Micah and Nox had to go through mentally plus all the stress and and physical abuse micah was put through was heartbreaking. The way Nox took a stand for Micah and how they ended up standing together for their love was incredible! Really good read.

Micah y Nox ♡

Another 5⭐️ release from Lark Taylor
I’ve been impatiently waiting for Micah’s story since he was portrayed as something of a villain in Luck of the devil and what a wonderful redemption it was for him.

How these two idiots ever thought they hated each other is beyond me. From the very start they were lusting after one another.

I don’t know what Lark puts in her books but she has an uncanny ability to make me cry during the spicy scenes. How could I not when she writes moments like this;

‘“Kiss me, little angel. Let’s play pretend while we still can.” That’s what I did. I kissed him while I pretended we had all the time in the world. That we wouldn’t go our separate ways in the morning. That this thing between us would have any outcome other than the pain we knew was coming. I wasn’t sure when Nox had stopped being my enemy and instead become the air I needed to breathe.’

I literally cheered out loud when I got this moment;

‘“Who did this to you, little angel?”’

I knew it was coming and it didn’t disappoint.

Also nice use of some of my favourite English-isms

‘“I’m in love with you, you fucking muppet.’

I laughed so loud at this part

All in all another banger from Lark and the beginning of what looks like it’s going to be an epic series.
Cant wait for the next instalment.

I read this book in a day. Loved the expansion of this universe and reading Micah’s story. This gave an interesting taste of Heaven’s politics, which I hope will be explored more in the future books! Nox was fun, and Micah was relatable. I found Micah actually to be the most relatable character in this whole universe so far!

Lark should just partner with a tissue manufacturer at this point.

Im in love and I fear this is a new permanent part of me. This is my first Lark Taylor book and I will be starting from the beginning of the universe because I loved everyone’s story. Not only was this written so well. Every emotion you could feel coming off the page. I love the found family and the bound everyone and their mate has. Plus Micah? He honestly just made me want to buy stock in tissue boxes because he had my “little black heart”(in the words of Nox) all broken.

I was so glad Micah got his HEA.

I loved the dynamic between Nox and Micah. Knowing how so much more powerful he was compared to Nox and yet he yearned to have Nox take care of him. And speaking of powerful, that scene in purgatory in the courtroom with Gloria, it was easy to see why Micah is the leader of the Seraphim.

I think this book rivals top ranking with Ferry’s book. Another great book by Lark Taylor. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the team.

Holy moly what a sweet sweet ride! Micah and Nox are just perfection together and the longer I sit with the book the more I love them. We are introduced to Micah in The Reckless Damned series and although you can read this as a standalone, there is a lot that is missed if you haven’t read this series first.
The book starts off right where we left off in Luck of the Devil, where we learned a seamen was most likely Micah’s fated Mate. Micah is a broken, sad, lonely, angel who has been in love with his second in command for forever. He is heart broken and thinks he will never be happy or find anyone who will love him.
Nox newly out of hell is also a lonely man trying to find his way in a new world. He has his friends but has truly never been loved or has loved anyone. When he meets Micah and his new world flipped upside down.
These two try and deny what is obviously their fate but eventually get to their HEA!
Hurt/comfort
Enemies/lovers
Fated mates
Such a great found family!
I can’t wait to see where this series goes!
