This book is lucky it’s the only one I had off Libby
What I loved about Archer’s voice was Archer. I loved his character. He was innocent and naive in many ways and in others he had more experience than any one should ever have in the areas of loss and tragedy. I loved that he was still a gentle soul after everything he had experienced.
I also thought Bree’s character was a beautiful soul. The way Sheridan wrote two characters who had their tragedy in common yet their experiences were polar opposites made an interesting couple. It felt realistic.
I was able to see where the story was headed and figured Bree would meet her father’s murderer again. I was confused when it said Archer “was gone” but he ended up being in a coma? It sounded as though he died. I cried my eyes out. I was relieved he was in a coma but to be honest, I’m torn between thinking to book would have been even better had Archer died but I also loved the happy ending. Bree and Archer deserved it.

This was a good read, but it didn’t quite reach the emotional depth I was hoping for. The premise had so much potential—a unique, gentle MMC and a romance built on vulnerability and healing. I really did love the romance at the core, but I wanted it to shatter me a little more than it did.
The writing style was hit and miss for me. At times it felt overly descriptive, which created distance instead of pulling me into the story. And while the plot was solid, I wished certain elements had been explored more deeply.
Overall, it’s a sweet and heartfelt romance, but it didn’t break me the way I wanted. Still, I can see why this book resonates so strongly with so many readers.

4.5 stars!! I've had this on my kindle for a little bit and never really picked it up, I have no freaking clue why I didn't! It was so different than any other romance I've read but kept to the same themes as a romance. The characters were lovable, the plot was interesting, and the writing was awesome! I will say that some of the conflicts weren't as developed as I would have hoped and I didn't like some of the things that went on throughout the story, but overall it will be a book that sticks with me!
@ all those 5 star reviews, be so fr right now...
I listened to this book with Libby. Super cute story with a crazy ending. Definitely want to get a copy and read it again!!
❝I had learned recently that often, love was all about learning to speak a person's language.❞

This book will break your heart but in the best way possible. I fell in love with Bree and Archer and their story. This book shows the process of healing, the process of understanding, accepting and finally allowing yourself to be the best you can be. It beautifully and realistically showcases the emotions of being excluded and not feeling accepted by the people that surround you, but it also reminds you that despite these feelings you do matter, you have a place in this world and that healing might start from within but it's always important to have people around you that support you. A beautiful and emotional read that leaves you wanting to be better.
