What a great addition to this story. I love how much is going on in the books, but Funke so artfully writes that you don't get lost in side stories. Characters are richly described, but don't overshadow the main characters. Side plots are fascinating, but don't take over the main plot. Each new introduction of a magical object (flying carpets anyone?) is described, explained, and brought into the story in such a natural way.

The world building and exlaination in this story is so beautiful. The romance has been handled with such a tender hand, yet it isn't what the story is about. Gah, I love these books, when does the next one come out?

Auch dieses Buch ist wunderbar gelesen und mit schöner, passender Musik unterlegt. Die Geschichte hat ein paar kleine Längen, ist aber insgesamt auch wieder toll geschrieben. Orlando gefällt mir gut, doch auch Jakob schlägt sich ordentlich. Und Fuchs finde ich ja sowieso toll!
Bei Will bin ich mit nicht so sicher, auch wo das hinführt...
Ich freu mich auf den 4. Teil!

Cornelia Funke has done it again! Mirror World is how fairy tales should be told; with the perfect amount of enchantment and fear. With the third installment the tale becomes more entangled with curses, first born debts and magical beings.
Funke's descriptions of the mirror people, despair, magical items, and a Baba Yaga's house are vivid.
Fairy tales were originally told to entertain, to scare and to teach; there are as many things to fear in Mirror World as there are to love. And many lessons to be learned.
