I love the wild, small farms, and eccentrics. I love those moments when I can see clearly how I am connected to everything around me and how everything around me is connected to everything else. This boo was filled with all of those things. Besides having all the topics I love (philosophical and not) and just being a good bit of character-based storytelling, this book challenged me to see all the sides of its events, situations, and characters, whether I liked them or not. This book was right up my alley. I would definitely suggest it to any reader who looks at reading as less of an escape and more of a way to see reality more clearly.

I loved this book when I read it a few years ago. I beautiful story of oneness of us all. Need to reread it!
Kingsolver was a little heavy handed on the ecological proselytizing in this story but I still enjoyed it.
This book came out shortly after I graduated from high school and moved away to college. When it did, my two favorite English teachers went to a signing back home, and got me an autographed copy to send to me at my dorm room.
Then I loaned it to a girl on my hall and she moved away with it.
People surprise you in all kindsa ways.

I tried to get into the Poisonwood Bible years ago and could not, but maybe I’ll try again - because this novel was so beautifully written by Kingsolver.
