i had grabbed a few of the first issues early on, and i knew i was going to be hooked. 90s, punk teens, haunted house? what a weird combination of things that somehow works! the art is great, the story is interesting, it's a fun ride.

Disclaimer: I have voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy from the publisher via Edelweiss+, thank you!

This one was a bit of a mixed bag. It's a story of a band, Home Sick Pilots, who are mostly orphans and outcasts. One of them, Ami, decides to check out an old haunted house and ends up receiving powers from it to retrieve ghosts that have somehow escaped it or were removed from it by third parties. She doesn't want to involve her friends but obviously, they do end up involved and everything goes to hell from there.

The first thing I need to say is that the art and color palette is stunning. It's so vibrant and some of the panels are arranged in such original, interesting ways. Overall the art style is absolutely amazing and I could look at some of it for hours.

The second thing is the designs of the ghosts. They're original and somehow fulfill some of my very niche monster-like design preferences. I'd buy a physical version of this comic just to stare at the pictures.

Honestly, though, I admit the premise was very interesting too. A girl helping a haunted house get back its ghosts? That isn't something I've seen before and it was so interesting. However, I feel like most of the events happened really fast and it was hard to grasp what was going on because stuff just happened. No one asked questions and nothing was being explained. There was a government agency doing something that appeared out of nowhere but was also using ghosts to achieve their goals. It was mostly pure action without much time for unnecessary talking and it could get confusing at times.

All in all, it's an interesting graphic novel and I would definitely read more of it but it rides more on pure vibes than plot and character development, so keep that in mind while going in.

This is a fun ride - nothing crazy great, but a fun story of a girl who gets stuck in and tricked by a haunted house that turns into a bit of a kaiju fight.

This was interesting but not great. The story was a little confusing but has a lot of potential to be ab entertaining series.
