I devoured this book and my face hurt from smiling and swooning. The author clearly did their research and I am thrilled with how REAL RYSING felt as a k-pop group. I hope we get more from this author because this was an absolute treat. If you are a fan of K-Pop, mm romance, or BL you will LOVE this book.

This was such a cute story about Nikko and Jase finding their way to each other. Nikko is 1/6th of the k-pop group RYSING and Jase is the tutor Nikko hires so that he can better his English speaking skills.
I loved the instant attraction between Jase and Nikko, and I also really loved their slow journey towards their happily ever after. I really enjoyed how everything built up to their first face to face meeting and how everything played out after that. Their connection was beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing them together as a couple.
The whole story was very cute and I really loved their honesty. I loved the insights into the k-pop idol world. I understood the struggles they had, which all stemmed from the k-pop idol life, but I loved that they were willing to do anything to overcome that. I lived the epilogue a lot, I felt like that was the best way to end this book.
If you love k-pop then I feel like this is a must read for you. A very cute story about a k-pop idol and his English tutor.

I absolutely ADORED this book 🥹 it was so sweet and swoony and made my heart so happy!
Jase and Nikko were both really great characters and I found myself constantly smiling at their interactions from the very start of the book. Every blush, shy look and formed connection between the two characters fed my soul and left me wanting to read more.
Nikko especially was such an endearing character from the beginning and I instantly wanted to wrap him up in a big hug. I really enjoyed the way the author brought a sense of found family to the story with Nikko's 'brothers', and I hope we get to see more of them in the future.
The writing style was so smooth and easy to read and I ended up highlighting so many beautiful quotes! There were so many moments I absolutely adored and you could tell this book was crafted with so much love.
Whether you're already a fan of K-Pop or not, this book is such a great read and I'd definitely recommend it. This was such an impressive debut by the author and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

I love the introduction to K-pop. I'm new to that world and it was lovely to learn more.
I definitely appreciate the writing style. It was easy to read.
The book lost steam for me, when most of the story is told through conversations and inner thoughts. I prefer to be shown, not told.
The book also focuses mostly on the romance and the development of that. As a reader I like to have more plot or story lines to add more substance and depth.
It reads a bit like fan fic. And no shade to fanfic, because I love that.
Favourite quote:
"I have to pick up treats and a new stuffie for Noel. Despite her small size, she can disassemble those "im- possible to destroy" toys like some kind of tiny chaos demon fueled by aggression and rage at being forced to live this life as a miniature poodle-chihuahua mix. The most recent victim- an octopus that was supposed to be able to survive the wrath of large dogs with outrageous bite strength-had lasted about two days before I found it tentacle-less in a heap of cotton fluff behind the couch. Two of the eight arms were never recovered, and I can only imagine what kind of fate they met."

This book was so stinkin cute. As an avid K-pop fan, this book read like not only a love story between the town main characters but as a love story to K-pop as well, I found myself relating to so many characters within this book and at multiple times through out laughing at their actions cause ive seen myself in those situations. I loved the whole found family aspect, it made reading the interactions between everyone so fun. Nikko and Jase were such a wholesome pair; it was tooth-rotting fluff for most of it and it had me kicking my feet and twirling my hair pretty much. I'm not sure if this is just a standalone or if it is going to be a series but i would love to see the other Rysing members find their happy ending as well.
