I love Bryony and her positivity, her personality is so bubbly and happy. That is why reading this memoir made me realise how difficult her past has been. From her addiction to her relationships, it is so true that you never know who you have in front of you unless you know their story. Be kind.

This was a refreshing look at mental illness. As a sufferer of many of the same issues mentioned by Bryony, I really identified with this book and got a lot from hearing her views and how she approached them. Great book- would recommend to those wishing to understand or to relate.

Bryony Gordon was a stranger to me before I read this book, based on a recommendation and my attempt to add more non-fiction to my reading list. Having finished it, I feel I know her personally. Her memoir is open, chatty, at times frustrating, at others relatable, funny and tragic. Gordon's troubles are laid bare in a manner that is quite brave and hopefully therapeutic for her, too. While this wasn't the sort of book I couldn't put down, it was engaging and I think it is certainly worth reading for people trying to understand mental health better or for those seeking comfort and companionship in knowing they are not alone in their struggle. Recommended!

I found it quite irritating and hard to pick up initially, but it came into its own about half-way through. Some really profound moments and comments to remember, as someone who has mild OCD and anxiety. Worth a read.

I love Bryony. She’s so honest about her own mental health and struggles with it. It’s written as if you’re talking to a friend over a cuppa, and I laughed and cried while reading it. It made me think about my own mental health and the treatments I’ve had/have. Well worth a read! #theessexreader #bookreview #bookstagram #books # mentalhealth #madgirl #bryonygordon

I saw Bryony speak last year and she made an impression on me. I loved this memoir- she strikes just the right balance between spilling her guts and being truthful about mental illness and telling a damn good story. Recommended.
