Someone's trying to kill photographer Laz, and his crush Red rushes to protect him. I adored Red - he's like the cuddliest, sweetest alpha bear. Laz is genuine and cute as a button. The romance is stronger if you'd read the last book, but it works well enough without. The chemistry is strong, and the affection between them feels very natural. Lots of little touches between them which I liked.

I also liked how they support each other in working through their issues. The sex is steamy hot and Laz is surprisingly the one with the dirtier mouth. Suspense is good but same issue as the last - was bit rushed to the end. And I wasn't fond of >!the momentary breakup where Laz jumped the gun and hurt Red - it was unneeded!<. The brotherhood is great though, really enjoyed them.

It was ok. But definitely not as good as the first book.

Be Still My Heart the second book in the Four Kings Security Series was an entertaining, enjoyable tale. That had me easily engaged throughout. Thanks not only to the main two characters Red and Laz but all the secondary ones. Who I loved and whose antics and humour kept this story running along. As did the fantastic relationship between Red and Laz. Who it's fair to say both have struggles and issues, including PTSD, and at times Red broke my heart, particularly when he was reliving the time when half his team and best friends died overseas. Still, I must say I did feel this story lacked suspense and I felt the plot about who was trying to kill Laz was somewhat overlooked and a bit of an afterthought. Nevertheless, that didn't stop me loving this story and being thoroughly entertained by it, and I'll certainly be checking out Lucky and Mason's story, as they have some serious chemistry going on. As for Be Still My Heart, I would certainly recommend it to others.

It was a cute story, with a good plot. I would have liked to see more about how Laz dealt with Red's PTSD, but it was fine I guess.
I didn't expect Red to forgive Laz immediately after he asked about his "cheating", so I didn't really like much that part.

Ok I do love a sweetheart, but both main characters sweethearts so it was so easy to enjoy this read. While the romance was sweet and a little predictable, the friendships and support in this book was extraordinary.

Yet another fantastic book from Charlie Cochet. You are always guaranteed for a good story line with strong characters, action, drama and romance.
Book 2 of Four Kings Security focuses on Red, a man deeply affected by PTSD after returning from the war but he's fought against it with the love and support of his brothers. He's learnt from experience, though, that not everyone can handle being in a relationship with someone with such an illness.
Laz is still getting over Bryan. Not so much their relationship as he's a horrible person but the constant negativity thrown at Laz hangs around in his mind, keeping him from being his true self and trusting again.
It's easy for everyone to see their attraction and when Laz has a threat against his life Red steps up to protect him, staying with him while it's investigated.
The two just happen to grow closer in this time and it's so cute to read them together. Both unsure and not that confident but wanting each other enough to try. Charlie writes her characters so well that you get a sense of them and the kind of people they are, rooting for them to get their HEA despite knowing that something will happen at some point in the story. We're treated to a great friendship building between Red and Laz but also an attraction that they act on which, of course, is hot!
The drama and action, for me, isn't as intense as it has been in other books but it still has enough in this book to create drama and stress for the MC's. We get to hear from all of the Kings, Ace and Colton, and possibly a sneak at who the next book will be based on! The setting for the book is again written so well. I can easily see in my head where the book is set, a condo on the beach, a fashion show in a studio, Colton's mansion.
There are a couple of instances and discussions on PTSD, just so people are aware of this is a trigger for them.
I cannot recommend the book enough. Its not necessary to have read book one, Love in Spades but I definitely think it will help with character development and comments about that story line. Looking forward to #3!
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and am happily giving a review.
