I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Was it a typical hockey romance or at least like the other hockey romances I have read? Definitely not.
This book was a happy romance through and through, so if you are hoping for dark and broody, this one is not that :)

I actually enjoyed the first half of this book. It was cute and I liked the banter. It got a little slow after the halfway point though, so I had to knock it down from a 3 star rating. I did appreciate that there's no drama

Hot hockey player- boy obsessed- no third act breakup!
This was a fun time. Maya and Easton were so perfect for each other. Maya had been burned in the past by a hockey player who happened to be her brothers teammate. Fast forward a few years and she meets Easton at their local college bar, he is the captain of their hockey team and a rival of her brother who goes to a different school. Easton was hooked from the moment his eyes landed on hers. He never gave up trying to get to know her and was totally willing to just be her friend if that’s all she wanted. He was the sweetest man, he was good at showing Maya he cared for her and was always there for her when she needed him.
The only reason this isn’t a five is I kept getting the feeling that I was reading this out of order when certain things were dropped about other characters- I found myself checking to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Could be just a me thing though.

Honestly I did love this. Easton is obsessed and aggressively falls and is just all in and I’m all for it. But it maybe fell to hard onto some typical cliches or idk how to explain it but it just didn’t quite earn the next star. I am definitely all in on the series and the rest of the boys though!!!

it was ok, after they got together nothing really happened to make their relationship progress so a lot of chapters felt useless

If you are looking for a swoon-worthy, steamy, college sports romance... LOOK NO FURTHER! Iced Out is a low angst (but you might shed a tear or two like I did), hockey romance set in the fictional school of Heston U! Veronica Eden has set up the perfect environment for a college hockey series full of found family ad all the best bromances + some super cute animal side characters!
Veronica completely swept me off my feet with Easton Blake, I mean this man is delicious!! He is the definition of boy falls first and HARD! He is a literal sweetheart of a mmc, he is the type to proudly display his heart on his sleeve (or in this case, on Maya's sleeve!) He is a genuine GOOD person and cares for everyone around him, especially Maya! He is patient and understanding of Maya's hesitancy to be involved with another hockey player after her previous relationship traumatized her. Listen, he has a fckn filthy mouth with a golden retriever personality and my god is this man a PLEASER?! He checks all my book boyfriend criteria!
And then we have a fun and sassy fmc, Maya! She is unapologetically herself, confident, and kind. She loves her family and honestly I was rooting for her since the second she was dancing on the bar top!
Maya and Easton's chemistry was THROUGH THE ROOF! There is a little waiting until they get together and I honestly enjoyed watching their friendship bloomed before they jumped into bed together!
This was a lot of fun! Veronica absolutely scored a goal with this one! No penalties here! LOL!
