Iced Out

I absolutely devoured this book. I couldn't put it down. Easton Blake is definitely my new favorite hockey boyfriend. He's as top tier as they get.

Iced Out is a college hockey romance. Easton and Maya were so cute, I'm still not over it. Maya Donnelly is Easton's rival's sister. Her brother plays for a different school but Maya goes to Heston U with Easton.

Easton definitely falls first and hard. Maya was so focused on her goals to graduate early and didn't have the best history with hockey players in the past which made her hesitant to give him a chance. Easton was persistent though and so incredibly thoughtful and sweet. He just wouldn't give up but at the same time made sure he wasn't actually bothering her or making her uncomfortable in his pursuit.

There's something so relaxing about going into a book knowing there's no third act break up. I felt like I could just kick up my feet and enjoy the ride. And while there is no internal conflict because these two know how to communicate like real adults, there were still external conflicts that kept the plot interesting.

This is definitely more of a slow burn but I thought the pacing was perfect for the story line. The spice was also so good. Iced Out, is no doubt, a top read for me.

Highly recommend if you like:

I received an arc for this in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Veronica Eden for sending it to me!

The romance was wayy to insta lovey for my taste but that didn’t stop me from really enjoying the book! I get that this is smut so there’s going to be sex and probably a lot of it but it did feel like a little overboard at times! I wish we got a little more pining! Im very excited to read the other books though!

i had a hard time rating this, but i think i’m going with 3.5 stars. i really enjoyed the characters and the build up to them getting together, but after they were together… it felt flat. like there was no major conflict between them. maybe i’m just used to the third act breakup, but it would’ve been nice to see them conquer some sort of issue (that affects their relationship, not an issue like mayas grandpa dying). like i think easton and ryan having beef could’ve been a WAYYY bigger thing and caused friction between easton and maya. idk. overall, i still really enjoyed and easton is so boyfriend i love him

Cute read. I liked both Easton's and Maya's personalities, and they had so many cute moments! There was some cringy dialogue, but I've read worse. This book is more of a personal growth book for Maya, we don't really see character development with Easton - he just instaloves Maya and changes from playboy to just being fixated on her. Maya learns to open up and trust Easton, she also has to go through her emotions of the death in her family. So, not really any conflict at all in throughout this story- it's more so happy moments and if a situation arises it just shows us that one of them will be there for the other.

There were a few moments that were beyond cheesy but the story was great! I love that the FMC didn’t fold instantly and that there was no 3rd act breakup. The 3rd act still had my crying though. Plenty of good

so. so, so good

this book had me laughing, crying, giddy, and just goofy grinning the whole time. SO so good!!! Definitely a must read!!!
