So I dnf'd this book with 23 minutes left in it because I just felt like it was going nowhere.
Easton was far too fluffy for me. Some parts were making me cringe so hard I had the ick. Him and maya together, yes, great. He was good for her.
I did get a bit emotional when the granda died but I will literally cry at a funeral procession on the road of someone who I don't know so that tells you all you need to know about me! but yeah, we don't really know much about why he's ill or what's happening to him, and he just seemed to crash so fast.
There were too many characters to keep up with. I was so confused half the time. The spice was relatively good, but even that got a little bit tedious towards the end, and I was skimming so much of it.
I'm not sure if I will read the next books, depending on if anything else on my tbr would excite me more at that moment.

i really enjoyed this but 4 stars bc i expected more reluctance from the fmc, maya, and more of a chase and slow burn from the title and the description
