An amazing book! The story takes place in Nazi Germany so the story isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but there are plenty of heartwarming moments. It is really thought-provoking and still relevant despite its setting. There were things in the book that gave me chills.

This was one of those books that I kept my eyes open for three days for. Actually, I don't remember how long it took me, but I remember that it kept me awake at night. I don't keep reading for many books because I value sleep, but something about these characters and the storyline just kept me reading. So poignant and powerful.

Truly a book-lover's book. this one was INCREDIBLE. I don't even want to tell you all about it because it was so unique I think you should read it for yourself.

Making a WWII novel from Death's POV- genius. It wasn't as gory or really upfront about completely breaking your heart- as other WWII fictions I have read, but this one was crazy in the fact that it left a lot up to you to imagine in your own mind- how it played out and what people were feeling. Death is merely an observer, however he does let us know just enough to get the full picture.

well done! I can't possibly call this a 'favourite' book because of its content, but it's a definite 5 star imho.

This book was sobering to what it was like during that time. You hear it through high school but you never realise the impact upon the German people until you read a book like this. Very well written and really emotionally connects you to the characters.
