Very rare for me to rate a book 5 stars, but this one deserves it! Not a big fan of the romance parts of the story, but it helped to bring about the sorrow and pride at its conclusion. Much respect to the Princess for being so strong through it all!

I honestly wasn’t looking forward to reading this because I’m not the biggest Leia fan, but decided to take the leap because I love everything else Claudia Gray does for Star Wars books. She really shocked me with an incredible tale of adventure, honor, and love that didn’t take away from Leia, but actually added so much to her! Claudia Gray made me (a prequels girlie) finally truly love an original trilogy character!

My poor heart
Honestly, this made me love Leia since I never been really interested in her.
The writing was so good it made me want to start writing again.

An interesting insight into Princess Leia's teenage years and her introduction to the resistance against the Empire. She reminds me a lot of young Padme from Queen’s Shadow but also has unique elements to her personality. A little dark and sad at the end. And dark throughout as you read about her love for her planet and remember what happens to Alderaan later.

I really enjoyed this Star Wars book! I was unsure at first, but I knew I was in the mood to read a Star Wars book. I loved how we got to know Leia more as well as her parents.

Great read. Loved the little Easter eggs imbedded.

I really love the insight into what Leia was like as a younger person. I appreciated all of the hints at future characters, places, and events. However,
Spoilerthe last line of the book made me cringe because her parents, friends, and world do get taken away by the Empire in the future.
Overall, a pretty decent read.
