Leia Organa is the strongest person in the galaxy
This novel was excellent. I wanted to give it only gets four stars because of the pain it caused me because of everything Leia goes through here and in the current four star wars movies she is in but that's not on Claudia alone. An excellent supplement to the fullness of character that is General and Princess Leia Organa.

As the title says, this book is about Leia's pre-Rebellion days. More specifically on how she got caught up in all of it, as a sixteen year old Princess.
There's some cool stuff in here (Crait!), a bunch of new character information (Leia's mother Breha), and, what Claudia Gray excels at, great characterization (both for Leia herself and her own side characters).
I didn't find it as good as either of her other Star Wars works though, but still very much worth a read.

I really liked this book. I actually give it a 3.5 Stars. It is not as good as her other books, but is still a good book.
I didn't actually realize it was YA until I read it here after finishing it (not that it would have affected me), but considering its the story of a 16 years old, I guess it makes sense. Its a fluffy, easy read that ties beautifully wih the Star Wars universe we already know, and I really enjoyed it. Tho maybe that was my undying Princess Leia love showing. I reccomend it for a cozy weekend, and for Leia worshippers in general.
What I liked from this book:
-Leia's character in being rebellious since day 1 and wanting to fight
-the Clone Wars references
-the mention of Obi-Wan Kenobi and how Leia knows about him
-getting to know the King and Queen of Alderaan before Darth Vader...ya know
What I didn't like from this book:
-Kier. The flap of the book describes him as "the man [Leia] loves" like they are literally 16
