This was unlike anything I’ve ever read (in the best way). Totally twisted, disturbing, and a tasteful masterpiece in showing the brutal ways human tragedy is turned into voyeuristic entertainment.

In Any Man a violent serial rapist on the loose dominates the news; the victims are questioned, doubted, shamed. Everyone is shocked, but what was he thinking, getting all drunk at a bar alone, instead of being at home with his wife and kids? And what did that other guy think would happen, when he agreed to meet up with an internet stranger?

Besides successfully flipping the script (all victims were men, attacked by this mysterious woman) the form it used to tell the story made Any Man very engaging. It had a poetic notch to it, but also followed the (social) media script perfectly, and it gave voice to the victims.

Very timely, original, and powerful.

A book unlike any other. An interesting story. A different way of writing it. I honestly couldn't put it down. Just a recommendation - the audiobook is truly the way to go when reading this one.

I think this is very well done but it is just way too dark and intense for me right now. The audiobook adaptation is phenomenal but the subject matter is too heavy for me. Heavy heavy trigger warnings if you pick this up.

A very important read but it went way over my head.

love the women in the male dominated fields

jokes aside, it was interesting seeing how the male rape received much more attention and importance than the female one
loved the paradox and the similarities between the book and the real life (the irony too)

It's hard to rate this book. It was beautifully written. I loved the different points of view and perfect format for an audiobook. That being said, it was very triggering. It made me feel nauseous the majority of the time. There is also some severe animal cruelty involving a cat in the middle of the book.

This book is dark and its focus is sexual assult.

The way that this was done was unique and beautiful. I loved this a lot. Definitely not for everyone.
I listened to the audio book while following along with the paperback, because the physical book has a quirky layout.  The audio book was recommended and I am glad I was able to do the two at the same time.
