Damn! Starting 2024 out strong with this read!!! This writing style is just *chefs kiss* absolute perfection. What a unique story about something so dark told so beautifully! I'll certainly be keeping my eyes peeled for more from this author.

This a hard book to listen to. It weaves the story of several different men who are recovering after being raped by the same person. It covers so many aspects of how society deals with rape culture - avoidance, the invasive nature of media, and the self-questioning - but also how these survivors work to support each other when and how they can.
It was a tough start - especially through the first perspective. While the assault isn't on page, you truly are existing in a character's head in the aftermath of this violence. I don't think this book did anything wrong, but it isn't a book you can sit down and enjoy.
