I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first two. I skimmed a lot of filler chapters and could have done without the trials plot. It was so lackluster. I would rather have the characters be involved in political machinations than the overused trial trope.

With that being said, Stolas is the main reason I kept reading this series. After book 2, I didn’t care enough about the other characters to continue if the Shade Lord wasn’t involved.

Archeron can eat dirt. I never liked his 2-faced ass, and I definitely don’t now. He never came across as genuine or caring to me.

Lastly, that big reveal with Haven was obvious. It’s something I started predicting in book 2. Overall, this book was ok, and parts of it were highly entertaining. I’ll read the next book out of curiosity, but I definitely need a palette cleanser before then.

Best book so far in this series! What I wanted to happen, hasn’t yet. However, it’s bound to in the next book.

This series gets better and better. Predictable and reminds me of another series but it’s good. I’m
Mad I have to wait until November to find out what happens next

Ahhhh

This would have to be my favourite one so far in the series. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I didn’t want to put it down, even though I had to at times due to work. I didn’t see that ending coming at all and now I have to wait till November to find out what happens next.

I had an adrenaline rush for like eight hours straight while I read this. I still have chicken skin, don't ask me why, I don't know why. It was just so good. Def my fave book in the series so far. They keep improving and growing in depth and magnitude so I'm so excited for the next one.

The amount of times I key smashed little notes while reading this was crazy. I wish I could just share my book notes so you can see how many times I freaked the frick out about everything. I haven't felt this giddy and strung up about a book since like 2014. I loved this book, I don't care what anyone says, this book made me so happy and feel so alive. AND I WAS RIGHT OK I PICKED THE RIGHT TEAM I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I WAS WHEN IT ALL WENT DOWN. They are so perfect for each other I can't handle it.

This felt like the HP Goblet of Fire and SJM Empire of Storms. We get the thrill of a tournament and we are at the precipice of a great turning point on all fronts: romance, friendship, identity, and the world. I love this so much. I know I said that already but I really had the best time reading this.

And the plot. My goodness, the first book I was like "okay yeah we have to break a deadly curse that's been plaguing the world for centuries." That's a solid plot. We like that plot. That's a good, big, meaningful plot. Then we just go absolutely crazy and now we gotta fight the devil himself. The plot, she thiccc. I love world-shattering revelations and characters. Audrey delivers. That is all I'm gonna say bout that!

The scene at the party with Stolas, Haven, and Archeron. That triggered my fight or flight so bad, I hate those awkward situations but I love them. The tension *chef's kiss* the angst *chef's kiss* That whole scene fed all my enemies to lovers, love triangle, angsty desires.

This really is one of the best enemies to lovers, slow burn, angsty but not annoying, tension-filled books I have read in a long time. And we have the best little team of strong people with lovely friendship and a powerful, damaged but beautiful couple. I love it hereeeee.

Some random thoughts:

1. First and foremost, Haven is a true hypocrite. She may appear kind, but she somehow ignores the fact that Stolas is literally starving and being tortured to near death. Well, I'm sorry, she thought about it, but only for about 30 seconds. Not only does Haven ignore this fact, but she also constantly complains about his sister, whom she mostly ignores (except for a few moments when she found her useful). She disrespects her as well. Does her memory fail her, or does she simply take for granted the fact that Stolas has saved her life numerous times? I mean, does she think she's so wonderful that it was an honor for Stolas to risk his own life for hers? So, overall, she isn't as awesome as she thinks she is. She only cares about and sacrifices for the people she loves.

2. The only interesting and funny dialogues are between Haven and Ravius. All the others are dull, unfunny, and lack life. They just sound unnatural to me.

3. I know readers are supposed to feel sorry for unloved Bell, but he annoys me. This time, he got in trouble because of his pride. He literally lied to everyone for weeks because he loved being worshipped and admired. Karma is a bitch, dude.

4. There wsn't a single character that I liked except the bird.

5.Somehow, the tournament is quite similar to the Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

6. There are also some similarities to A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR). The part where Haven asks Stolas to distract her and when she glows during their lovemaking out of happiness is nearly identical. And of course, Stolas and Haven are mates, but only Stolas knows about it... Doesn't that ring a bell? Oh, right!

Wow!
So much has changed and developed through this book and it felt like the book that changes the rest of the series. The next two books will be a wild ride and I NEED more Stolas time.

I just read this book and wow. It starts of a little slow in my opinion but once it gets started it gets started. Everything that happened at the end had my mind exploding. I can’t wait for the next book to come out, this one was just so good. At points I debated stoping and not reading it anymore, but I didn’t and I’m sooooo thankful.

If you like Throne Of Glass you will like this. The tournament is very similar to the competition in Throne of Glass.

I started reading a few pages of this book a really long time ago, but never really got into it. I enjoyed the first two books in the series, so I'm not sure what exactly was stopping me from picking this one up.

Honestly, I regret not reading this last year. This book was great! I loved how many surprises were in it, and Audrey Grey is an amazing writer. I was really just pulled into the book and didn't want to put it down. I loved seeing how the characters grew and transformed; for the better or worst, and I really feel like the entire series is coming together.

This book is perfect for Throne of Glass fans, and I highly recommend it.
