Um what!?!

No spoilers!!!

I literally read this in one day. I love the anticipation in this book. You don’t know who to trust. There are plot twists everywhere. And lastly - STOLAS!

As someone who didn’t really like Bell in the first two books. He really impressed me in this one. I love Surai. Obviously love Haven even if she can be a pain-in-the-ass!

All in all, it was a great 3rd instalment. I can’t wait to read the next one and the new one which is out in September.

This just keeps getting better.

Anyone I've seen complaining about Heaven getting god moded is ridiculous. You could see that coming from a mile away. The only person to have both light and dark magick? It makes sense.

Stolas. Oh my goodness this man is perfect. I love him so much. I knew Archeron wouldn't be endgame. What blonde man is? Tampon all over again and I love it.

I'm obsessed with Bell's growth. He's turning into such an amazing person and it's wonderful to watch.

The only real complaint I have is that the entire time during the trials it felt way too similar to Harry potter.
Aside from that though this was beautiful.

This series becomes more addictive with each installment.

Ok. I'll admit that I am a trifle obsessed with Stolas. I have always been captivated by the story of Hades. And Stolas is his winged incarnation.

Archeron finally succumbs to the need for vengeance that has coursed through him for a thousand years. He becomes a dark weapon and a curse.

Stolas strides into the Kingdom of Light, determined to win the tournament so he can claim kingship over his ancestral lands. Ravenna is with him, her grip tight on his leash.

Bell becomes more than the fragile prince. His knowledge and devotion to those he loves have masked the latent power singing through his veins.

Haven is torn between her sense of obligation to Archeron for his sacrifice, her innate need to protect her Bell, and the growing attraction she has for Stolas.

Stolas and Haven finally -FINALLY- kiss. And more. And holy hotness that scene. They are reluctant to admit what they are feeling, but it is in every lingering glance and halting touch.

Stolas and Haven earn their freedom. But that freedom comes at a cost.

Not amazing but I did finish it so there’s that. I think this was better than the first two books, might read another one in the series if it came out. Sad about the queer rep tho, hits a lot of negative tropes.

King Maker has probably been the most gripping of the installments of the Kingdom of Runes thus far. The characters and their stories became much more complex with this plot line. How Haven’s undying loyalty brings our motley crew back into a predicament for the ages… well, that’s not for me to spoil but it’s on brand for the protagonist herself. The leaps and bounds that our heroine has made within herself and her magic is apparent in this chapter of the series. The relationships she is kindling and forming are finally feeling tangible and real. The plot is constantly twisting our characters (and their wills, thoughts, and actions) in unexpected ways. We have old familiar faces, new characters, more world building with legends, and prophecies that throw a wrench into everything Haven thinks she has control of. I did note a bit of lull in some of the scenes and chapters, but nothing that felt as drawn out as the first two books…. Except maybe Haven’s love life… which even has some plot twists that had me on my toes….

The middle dragged a bit and I wasn’t totally loving the competition element, but we finally got some spice and there was some interesting character development from you know who
