RATING

4 out of 5.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Camilla Moretti is the heir to the throne of the famous olive oil company. Unfortunately for her, she’s the heir to the throne of the famous Moretti Formula 1 team, as well. After a vow of never returning to the grid to avoid ghosts from her past, a plea of her father’s forces her to face her demons.
As the successor of the team principal, she is thrust into the middle of Moretti Motorsports and into the arms an arrogant stranger.
Spencer Riggs just achieved the goal he worked and sacrificed so much of his life. He’s the new – and temporary driver for the historical Formula One team, Moretti. As expectations for his performance and overall accomplishment in the pinnacle of motorsport are sky high, he needs to prove he’s not totally moulded after his father and his reckless tendencies won’t make him end up like his dad.
Too bad, those reckless tendencies could not be stopped around Camilla Moretti. The daughter of his new boss, the forbidden fruit and the only objective he seems to dream about outside his car.

REVIEW:
If you know me, you know I follow Formula 1 religiously. I was sucked into the sport as a kid, watching the cars go round the track at a speed I couldn’t even imagine. I love the race strategies, the anticipation before the lights go out, the sheer horsepower and the antics between the pilots.
What’s even more interesting how the sport changed in the last few years, how more approachable and interesting social media and Netflix made the sport. All these times when I sat in front of F1 and I’ve never read any romance novels related to these athletes.
And now that I did? Sign me up for more! I’m incredibly happy there’s a few more coming in the series!
The strangers to friends to lovers trope in the book made it so much fun, I was thoroughly enjoying myself while reading. I loved-loved the banter between Cami and Riggs, they had sparks flying around them at their first encounter. I loved how he was able to coax her out her shell little by little, showing her patiently that he’s trustworthy. I love the cocky but soft type of MMCs, and Riggs was plenty of cocky. His arrogance and the fears he battled on and off the track made him relatable and real.
The workplace setting was a cherry on top of the cake, the extra angst and complications it bought and the tension between the characters, how it defined the will they, won’t they? part of the story was immaculate.
I enjoyed the character development from Camilla, the girl living fearfully, avoiding some hard truths was nowhere to be around after. Riggs was the biggest and silliest cheerleader, and the ‘dating lessons’ made him somehow even more attractive.
Overall, I’d recommend Off the Grid for everyone who likes a strong, intelligent female lead, and would like to develop just a little bit of crush on a complex, charming ‘bad boy’.

i cried more than i’d like to admit.

i think what i liked most was the relationship camilla and riggs had with their parents even though deep down, they felt like they had something to live up to. riggs and his mom have the sweetest relationship ever.

camilla and riggs definitely had a rocky start, from them meeting in a bar to him trying to pay her off to him finding out who she really is. but after that, as much as camilla *tried* to not fall in love with his gorgeous smile and grey eyes, she couldn’t resist the man.

camilla had a past to heal from and i could feel how hard it was for her to open up to riggs. it was always hard for her to talk about and it’s why she always dodged it when asked, but i’m also really glad she finally found someone she was able to trust enough to tell that story. and i’m really glad riggs didn’t question any of her past decisions, only supporting her in the present.

riggs also had a legacy to live up to, as his dad was well known for his race decisions. there was a pressure for riggs to prove that he wasn’t like his dad, that he deserved the spot in formula one. i was happy to see he was able to admit the comments surrounding that legacy get to him and how he grew from them.

overall, i really liked off the grid and i look forward to reading the rest of the full throttle series.

This was the first book I read by the author and I absolutely loved it.
It will definitely go without one of my favorites of the year 2023
I loved all the characters and being from F1 won me over without even having opened it to read

Thank you so much to K. Bromberg and Valentine PR for an early copy to read and review❤️
