I did not like this book, there was a lot of running, and just too many flashbacks and just not enough book eating. I had an idea of what this book was about, but that was not it at all. The writing, the plot just everything was so bad. I was even listening to the audiobook and it was just not my cup of tea. I don't know how this was the most anticipated novel of the year, this book just really fell flat for me. I don't know why people are hiding their reviews, there's not much of this book to spoil. The audiobook was boring and so was the physical book. Everyone made this book seem so good and it just was not. I don't really have much to say about this book.

This book could not hook me. The world was interesting enough that it pulled me through but I found the prose so dry. With a book that had a lot of action I found it feeling really slow. The jumping timelines were interesting but after awhile it felt like just a device to slow a mystery that wasn’t that interesting. If you get 50-75 pages in and it’s not connecting DNF. Don’t hold out to the end like I did.
