Saving Mr. Terupt

Rob Buyea

4.12 AVERAGE

In the third installment of the "Mr. Terupt" saga, the kids we met in Fifth grade are now entering junior high. For the reader, whether adult or student, author Buyea has been an astute guide through the personal woes of Fifth and Sixth graders, and his plot points for the characters as Seventh Graders continues in this vein. Realistic and absolutely fun to grow older with this group!

I love these books because they are real, and this one was mostly that way too. I love the characters and the story being told from the different perspectives of students but following the same timeline. It takes current larger issues in education, adolescence and life, and wraps them into a touching, funny bundle of goodness and HOPE!

Adorable! I love this series. Great read alike for fans of R.J. Palacio's Wonder.

This book has me thinking about the people who have really influenced my life, especially the amazing teachers that I've had. I really connect with some of the feelings that the kids have of leaving their teacher, Mr. Terupt and moving on to junior high. The way that they stick together and have each others backs through thick and thin is endearing and heartwarming. This book shows that, even through hard times in life, you can make it through, especially with the support of those closest to you. I will not soon forget this book, or the 2 preceding it. I highly recommend any and all of the Mr. Terupt books.

Another beautiful read about the beloved Mr Terupt and his wonderful students 🫶🥹 I will never not love this series!

“If you have a goal that you do not achieve, this does not guarantee failure. If you’ve worked extremely hard, and if you’ve been honest in your pursuit to attain it, then you will have accomplished far more than you realize.”

“TIP #5: Never stop thinking. No matter how dark the times, a great idea can give you a hopeful light.”
