It was a little slow in the middle of the book, but Rain and Bernard were such great characters that I still loved the book! 100% will read next one even if it's not about Rain.

King of Tricksters by S.L. Prater
Fae Tricksters #2

Recommend reading Court of Tricksters first before reading this one but also recommend having this one immediately available as soon as you finish the first book in the series! This was a great story and carried on right from where the first book left off.

What I liked:
* Rain: witch, ancient, battle-scarred, empathetic, caring, strong, indomitable, has a demon familiar, communicates with the trees, impressive, intriguing, mate of the Lord of the Lunar Court, left near death at the end of Court of Tricksters, has a dragon to destroy before the end of the book
* Night: Lord of the Lunar Court, Fae, powerful, strong, wise, intriguing man, magic skills, grows to deeply care for Rain, conflicted over his duties as a king and as a mate, caring, has some growing to do before the end of the story
* Bernard: Rain’s familiar, a demon, shapeshifter, protective, mind-link with Rain, made me smile
* Clapa: tiny fairy that plays a big part in this story – loved her interactions with Bernard and others
* The way Rain regained her memories, healed herself, found her sisters, and dealt with the obstacle preventing peace in the region
* The plot, pacing, and writing
* The conclusion and how everything was wrapped up in the end
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Wondering if the author will write more about these characters in the future.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to the author and BookSirens for the ARC – This is my honest review.

5 Stars

This is an amazing end to this duology. I was so excited to learn more about Rain’s past and how it does affect her relationship with Night. I felt bad for Benard for a demon he’s so innocent for something that’s supposed to be evil, but it was also hilarious. The sweet romantic moments are swoon worthy and the fight scenes were so good. I can’t wait to read more of the author’s work.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
