Ruby Roe said trust issues, tension, and lesbians with knives and I said, “Yes, please!” From the very first chapter, this book throws you straight into the action, and it never lets up. It’s sexy, sharp, and emotionally layered in a way that had me hooked. The spice? Absolutely present and accounted for, but never gratuitous as it deepens the stakes, especially as the lines between betrayal and desire start to blur. It’s got criminal schemes, queer yearning, and enough plot twists to keep you guessing and gasping. If you like your romance with a side of adrenaline and morally gray sapphics, this one’s a must.

I really liked the whole heist plot and the gathering of a team; excited to see the team do more missions in future books. I did feel like the romance was
a bit rushed. I get that they had a sexual relationship before the book even started, but I felt like they actually fell in love only a few chapters in.
Other than that, I did really like their dynamic. My only other critique is the world building. Majority of the time I was very confused by the world and the magic system. But overall it was a very enjoyable book.
