What a cute and original book! I thought the premise was super original, a real merfolk, give it to me! And Jason handled it in such a believable way, the way they fell in love and handled it too seemed quite believable for teenagers and I found the ending so cute and moving. I definitely recommend it.

This book is so sweet. Read it over a year ago and I still find myself thinking back on it fondly. The main characters are all so wholesome and precious, while also making mistakes and sometimes hurting each other. I loved watching all the MCs grow into their own. Also, I’m just a sucker for an enby character that is fierce and passionate and stands up for what they believe in. The merfolk lore was excellent and I kinda want a sequel that take place in the ocean instead of on land. Maybe with Drop as the MC??? Please, Jason June, I beg.

Only didn’t give it 5 stars cause there are a couple of spots where it’s a little slow but they don’t really bog you down. Overall this is an excellent read and I highly recommend.

This book broke my heart and I loved every minute of it.

I absolutely adore fake relationship tropes. I love when A and B pretend to date and then end up actually dating. It’s one of my favourite flavours.

Take that and add fantasy elements and it’s even better. I love merfolk and I absolutely loved the concept of their journeys.

I love how the characters grew and learned through the whole book. And I feel like the audience learned some too. The author definitely knew what he was doing.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster but it was so good.
