How I looked forward to this book after reading the first three. Though I loved the book and the epilogue made me tear up, I missed something in this book. The chess moves were good but I didn't feel it in my gut that THIS was everything. The final stand or something like it. The growing FMC suddenly became to overpowered, having powers that are there just to make scenes work instead of going with what she had, it felt like. I'm also still unsure how to feel about Damien's fate. I mean that was beautifully written and I loved it but on the other hand yeah....

One of the best wrap ups of a series. Melissa Blair tore my heart in half then stitched it back together. Kyla Garcia reading this series is a game changer. Cannot recommend both the books and the audiobooks enough.

This book on its own may not be a full five star. But my heart is so happy and overwhelmed at the end of this series that I grant it the full five. Because five star books/series are rated with the heart.

3.5 stars! I love this author but the only issues I had with this book is it felt like a rushed ending almost. We had very little time with Riven and he and Keera needed more time together, in my opinion, to deal with the aftermaths of what happened in the third book.

That being said, it was still a very good ending to the series. Keera had an amazing amount of character development and I loved seeing how far she came in this book. Every character’s journey in this book was impactful, emotional, and powerful. Definitely recommend this series!

I don’t want to give too much detail about this book because it’s still a new release but wow. What an incredible ending to Keera’s journey. I wish the book had been a bit longer (I feel like the conflict could’ve been drawn out a little more, especially with the battles that take place between Keera and Damien), but all in all, AHV was such a good wrap up to this story. I can’t believe the Halfling Saga is over. There were moments that made me laugh, moments that made me cry and grieve right along with the characters. Elverath felt like such a real world and the way Blair describes the surroundings makes me incredibly immersed in the setting.
