Time for the series to end

The book started off with so much promise. I really did think that maybe JD Robb was back on top, but too much detail with cop procedure soon turned the boom with so much promise, to one of complete boredom. I almost didn't finish it but at £9.99 I made myself. If this wasn't JD Robb but a debut novel by some unknown author, it would have been my first and last time reading them. Sad to say, but I think the series is done. It's just nowhere else to go. Even Roarke is boring. I mean are we to believe that a billionaire has an unlimited amount of time to help his wife. Even Peabody bored me to tears. If you want to relieve the glory days, pick up the first few books in the series. That was Robb writing as her best. Now, they're just using her name to sell books and I for one am tired of it.

Like all JD Robb books, this story kept me reading as fast as I possibly could!

Another awesome case

I wasn’t sure where this case was going or how the Oscars would fit in but dang it Nora did it again!

In Death is that old procedural that I just can't bring myself to let go of, I can guarantee that while I'll remember the crimes and murders that always form the first shocking chapter, I have next to no memory of the actual consequences or perpetrator when they're revealed. Such is the case here, a bombing in an office and criminals who turn out to be unwilling hostages kick off the action.

There's a fun B-side story with the oscars and the storyline that keeps giving, the Icove Agenda case! I feel like I definitely need to re-read that one book at the very least .

I love this series so much. Please never end

After 47 books, J.D. Robb still manages to deliver these things with a bang and none of the whimper.

Things I loved:
+ Eve Dallas kicking ass and taking names. The takedown was a thing of beauty and always my favourite part in every book.
+ Mira mothering Eve and her wounds. Be still my beating heart, this is the mother figure Eve deserves!
+ That tense bit of angst between Eve and Roarke (Hello drama!)
+ Peabody being her one-of-a-kind self, decked out in fluorescent colours and practically high on caffeine.
+ The Oscaaaaaaars
+ Eve's "I love you" to Roarke when he stepped into the elevator. I'm fineeeee. I wasn't crying at all.
+ Eve Dallas and that dream. These are practically staple moments in this series now but we've never seen Eve that distraught over one before but it just shows how much she loves Roarke... my heart... it hurts. I love them.

Things I still need answered...
+ Who is the candy thief? I've waited 47 books and we still aren't any closer to knowing who it is. I want answers before this series is over.

Now to wait what feels like 3,000 years for the next book!

Excellent as always. Another great episide.

A wild ride with fantastic characters

I love Eve Dallas but some books are definitely better than others. This one hit the five star rating with a crazy entertaining characters but I dinged a point because the case itself wasn't that stellar. There was no who-dun-it here. No guessing, no peak into the villains heads. All you could do was follow the path until the story hit the end, as you arent even introduced to the bad guys until right before they get arrested. Still a great book, just not my favorite style.

I'm not sure how it's possible, the each book is better than the last. Here we find Eve & Peabody on the case of a suicide bomber ... that should be an open and shut case, but it isn't. There's nefarious actions going on that reveal a very disturbing pattern.

Add to this active investigation ... is a personal thread of the upcoming Oscars ... and Nadine's nominations for the Icove movie ... It's always fun to watch Eve struggle with work and friends.

Eve and Roarke have a pretty big arguement ... which was a bit surprising to me, but refreshing to see that the world's most perfect couple still have flair ups to deal with.

My very favorite part of this book is ... Eve's entire squad is involved in this case. I LOVE when it's a group effort to catch the bad guys. Baxter & Trueheart really step up in this investigation.

GREAT story!

Another excellent addition to the series...

As always, the action was intense, the mystery well-plotted and the dialogue and emotion between the characters was the glue that holds it all together. I can always count on these books to be a genuine pleasure.
