No matter how dangerous, I want to crawl into the worlds of Alix E Harrow's books and never leave.
Starling House was one of my favorite reads of last year, so I was excited to get to this one. January starts off as a naive young woman desperate for something - anything - to change, and her journey to confidence and power is just... chef's kiss. But even more interesting than the characters is the world(s) within. Doors obviously play a key roll - both as a means of escape and a metaphor. Harrow mixes multiple POVs with ease.
Look, I don't know that I can write a coherent review on how much I loved this book. I think Alix E Harrow could write a book about anything and I would give it 10 stars if I could. I'm entranced by her work.
