This book had a very unique style of writing in terms of how it was read by the reader. I enjoyed this book but don't think it was anything over the top eye catching for me. I felt like other readers would enjoy the imaginative and unique journey this book took. I liked the main Character, January and how a magical book takes her on a journey through hidden doors into other worlds. Overall, it was a solid 3 star.

To say Harrow knows how to turn a phrase would be an understatement. Very dreamy, lilting, and adventurous, this one. January is an awesome protagonist, and Harrow does a brilliant job with the villain and with her commentary on society and its rampart problems with sexism, racism, and bigotry.

ten thousand stars to this book as that is the highest number there is. what a beautiful tale. the story was interwoven so well and i could not put it down. also reminded me kind of emily wilde's encyclopaedia of faeries so it got points from me for that because that is my most favorite book in the world. also kind of reminded me of thistlefoot and the inheritance of orquidea divina. it was perfecttt
