The review of this book I read before reading it said that you once you were finished, you would want to reread it. That is an entirely accurate summation, and if it weren't a library copy due tomorrow with a 6+ month waiting list, I probably would start right now!

I can see why so many people love this book. For me it was a little slow and a little light- I wanted the Founder to be older and waaay more sinister and the society to be more dangerous and ruthless. I kept having to remind myself that January was just a little girl and that’s why she was so naive. It was VERY well written and it really was a beautiful story, I think I just wanted something a tiny bit MORE. More sci-fi slash fantasy, more love of books in general, maybe more like Mr Penumbra, remember that one? This reminded me of that, plus (for whatever reason??) the Night Circus. I’m glad I read it but now it’s time for Thursday Murder!!!!! #engelbrechtreads2022 #engelbrechtreads
