Chiar am vrut să-mi placă cartea, însă m-a dezamăgit. Am continuat să citesc pentru că voiam sa vad cu ce se sfârșește. Finalul chiar a fost drăguț, mi-a scos și vreo două lacrimi. În rest... January mă scotea din sărite. Stilul de scriere al autoarei e foarte enervant, atâtea figuri de stil. Când vrei să arăți că știi să scrii frumos, dar exagerezi cu trei figuri de stil pe propoziție. Foarte greu s-a ajuns la ceva acțiune, și aceia a fost așa, de mântuială. În general povestea e bună, însă realizarea cam lasă de dorit. Poate voi mai incerca ceva de la autoare, dar dacă mai văd zece figuri de stil pe paragraf, renunț la ea.

Something extremely charming about Harrow's writing is the way her prose beautifully weaves a world, and if you're interested in historical fiction you'll likely find yourself having a great time with this novel! Unfortunately, I struggled to sink into this one... I feel like it was both too long, and the action too rushed between long stretches of the rest of the plot. I still enjoyed it, but definitely like some of her other works more.
