This story is classic Tracers series from Laura Griffin. I've read every single Tracers novel and love the balance of romance and suspense done VERY WELL. If you love crime TV shows but wish they ended with a happily ever after between the two main characters, add this book to your cart. Whether you've read all 11 other tiles or not this book will have your heart racing as they work the case, and fall in love at the same time.

Brooke is great at finding trace evidence at Crime Scenes. Working at Delfi, she's come across police detective Sean at many scenes. The chemistry between the two is sizzling. But just getting out of a relationship has Brooke swearing off men.

Can Sean break through Brooke's walls? Can the case they're working on put them both in danger?

I enjoyed this book in the Tracers series. It was a fast story, that kept me focused. I always enjoy the forensic talk. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Thanks to Laura Griffin for the advanced copy.

Exciting, fast paced, and steamy romance! I haven't been reading enough Laura Griffin's Tracers series. They are well written with compelling characters. What's great is I can read them in any order. Different books have different MCs, with at least one character working for Delphi Center crime lab.

Touch of Red is a police procedural, suspense and romance in one with Brooke working for the crime lab and Detective Sean with San Marcos PD. A woman has been murdered with her throat slit. What Brooke found at the crime scene are fingerprints of a child, a possible witness. As the clock ticks, they need to find the child before the killer does.

If you’re like me, you have at least one author per genre that you know when you pick up their book you are going to be engrossed for the entire time it takes to read that novel. Hold the phone. Hold dinner. Nothing is going to get done. Laura Griffin is that writer for me in romantic suspense. And, I don’t know if it’s even possible, but her novels keep getting better and better.

From the first page Touch of Red hooks the reader and holds on as Sean Byrne and Brooke Porter investigate the death of barista who seemingly had no enemies.

Sped through it. My first romantic suspense. Got annoyed with how often - especially in literally life threatening situations - the heroine was just doing whatever she wanted.

A book that could be considered a romantic suspense novel AND (not or) a crime thriller. What more could you possibly want?

The chemistry between the leading characters is electric and noticeable to the reader from the very start. Yet, the author (thankfully) spared us the "instalove" that is far too often prominent in popular romance novels today. The relationship is slow to build and follows a more realistic progression, which was refreshing to read.

I really loved Brooke & Sean -- the couple featured in Touch of Red. Sean is a genuinely great guy... he's patient and supportive and a bit of a bad ass. Brooke is skeptical and slow to trust as a result of being burned by men in the past, but she's also strong and smart as a whip. Sean sees these great qualities in Brooke and isn't afraid to put in the work needed to gain her trust. (Cue the swoon from all women everywhere.)

Touch of Red is much more than a typical romance novel --- it has "a touch" of everything. (That was a terrible pun, I know.)

*A big thanks to both Netgalley and the publisher for granting me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
