Love. Love. Love. It’s such a great companion to September doves. It is longer and covers quite a bit of time, but it was so worth it. This is an immediate continuation of Book 1. September Doves is a must-read. It has a great flow. While the time line is longer, I never felt like it was taking too long to get to the point.
I love Mac and would definitely love some kind of spin-off even a novella. I would also like to see more of Danny’s relationship situation. Everything fell together well throughout the book. Amazingly satisfying conclusions to this duet that’s been on my mind for months!
‼️ Must read September Doves first‼️ This is a companion novel ‼️

I have been impatiently waiting for the final book in the Jackals & Vipers Duet and Summer Sparrow did not disappoint! It did take me a bit longer than I expected because I didn't know it was 600+ pages, but don't let that scare you! While most romances don't need that many pages, I feel like this one did for a couple different reasons. 1) This second chance romance actually seems legit because the second chance did not happen immediately. 2) Everything that happened would not have been possible in a shorter book - both timeline wise and detail wise. I'm so glad Emmerson Hoyt decided to make this longer so we weren't left with a story that felt incomplete.
Now this one is a slow burn, and while the romance is a pretty big plot line, the smut isn't. But when there is smut, it is filled with so much tension and I just ate it up. I also love that this wasn't just romance. I love what the Jackals do, and I loved getting to see more of that in Summer Sparrow.
The ending was definitely a whirlwind of action, but not in a way that jumbles everything together. It all wraps up so nicely. Though I do wish we had a look into Holly’s life. Maybe another book? I’d love to see her new life.
This is only the author's second book, but I cannot wait to see what else she's going to put out.

I absolutely fell in love with the story and the characters in book 1, September Doves. The sequel became one of my most anticipated reads for this year, and it 100% did not disappoint. It brought out all the emotions and was one of the best emotional rollercoasters I've ever experienced. Part 1 was rough and had me throwing my Kindle at times, but I get it now. Without all of that, we would've never been able to appreciate the absolute masterpiece that was this duet. I'm so in love with these characters and this story as a whole. It's one of those stories that claims a piece of your heart. I'm going to miss Colton and Rylee and the whole town of Eden so much; they become so real to me. But I honestly could not have wished for a better ending for them.

The depth of these characters is my favorite part. They are so incredibly written, with so many layers about them. I just love all of them so much. If you're looking for a book that will make you - ache, laugh, cry, scream, and get horny all wrapped in a singular book, this one is for you!

“He was mine for the season, but never mine to keep.
My summer Sparrow...”
Jackals and Vipers duet finally comes to an end with this sequel, Summer Sparrow!
I had a wonderful time reading this duology and I’m satisfied with how it ends.
The plot started right after the end of the 1st book, Rylee is struggling to deal with herself after going through a traumatic event and being away from the family she just found is making it harder.
Such an emotional journey for Rylee to build herself back up again and moved on but I admire her strength and compassion for her loved ones.
There’s also a new character addition – Mac, I absolutely adore him! He’s a softie despite the brooding stone cold face he gave to everyone else.
At first I kinda wish Rylee and Mac got together instead with Colton (MMC) cause I don’t like his choice of action towards Rylee in the first half of the book.
I get that Colton is trying to save everybody but, the miscommunication slightly annoyed me. I have to admit, seeing him grovel his way back to his family and girlfriend is kinda worth it though.
The ending is wrapped up nicely, justice is served with the evil mastermind behind bars. All the hard works and sacrifices of the Jackals are finally paid off. I’m glad to see they got the ending they deserved!
Overall, this is a good conclusion to this duology. Love the plot and the writing style, I’m looking forward to read more books from this author in the future!
Maybe a prequel of how Mac and Holly met would be nice ?!
I received an advanced review copy for free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

Summer Sparrow by Emmerson Hoyt? Oh, let me tell you, it was like the grand finale of a fireworks show I didn't even know I was missing! I mean, talk about a rollercoaster of emotions.
Listen, reading the book was like having a movie reel rolling in my mind. Rylee and Colton take us on this wild ride back to Eden (and Boston), and it's like catching up with old friends. You remember those iconic side characters we fell head over heels for in September Doves? They're back, making you fall even harder with all their charm.
But wait, there's more! Hoyt introduces us to some new characters, and honestly, I fell in love all over again (maybe even harder than I did for Colton). It's like adding new ingredients to a recipe you thought couldn't get any better. These fresh faces bring a whole new energy to the story, perfectly blending the familiar and the excitingly new.
And can we talk about Hoyt's writing style? The descriptions are so vivid; you feel like you're right there in the middle of it all. The emotions are all over the place, from laughter to tears—it's a real emotional rollercoaster, and I loved every second of it.
The pacing? Spot on. You're glued to the pages, navigating through this world with every unexpected twist and turn. It's like trying to solve a mystery while riding a rollercoaster—exciting, a bit nerve-wracking, but oh-so-fun.
So, in a nutshell, "Summer Sparrow" isn't just a book; it's a full-blown experience. If you've been following the Jackals and Vipers duet, this one's the grand finale you've been waiting for. Hoyt wraps it all up with a perfect bow, leaving you with that warm, fuzzy feeling that stays with you long after you've closed the book. Trust me; it's a must-read!
