In the fourth installment in the Chew series, things get really interestingly weird and a lot of questions are answered.
The most interesting features of Chew, I believe, are the richness of its universe, the originality of its concepts, the incredibly surprising narratives and innovative plot twists and the great characters and sense of humor. Plus, Poyo the rooster is BADASS.
If you never heard of this series just do yourself a favor and start reading it ASAP.

In this and the other volume which I've just finished, we're entering longer story arcs with several significant arcs (or at least sub-plots, we'll see) existing simultaneously, whereas previously the stories were shorter and wrapped up within the volume. I am a fan of longer and more detailed graphic novel story arcs, so am looking forward to continuing with this series.

There's a lot about this series I like plotwise. It's funny and a bit messed up. But it's not so great in terms of how it treats women, especially with the art (please can the women with tiny tiny waists and boobs as big as their heads stop, please), and this volume was worse with that.
So I didn't like this one as much as I liked the previous volumes. And I'm getting a little annoyed at the story too. It is based around law enforcement investigations and there's some jumps ahead that I don't feel like are properly explained. And there's a lot of overarching mystery that I just want some answers to already, and instead what I get is another mysterious event in connection with the big mystery and not any clues as to what's happening.

This is one of my least favorites of the series. It adds a lot of science fiction, but I did like that they continued to add his girl friend and family members. The ending leaves on a cliffhanger.
