This was stunning. It makes me want to read Priory again though to see if any of these characters are mentioned, because I can't remember!

This starts quite slow and it took me a minute to get into. Once I did though, it is all go. With it being a prequel, we knew the rough outline of what was going to happen. The how however had me guessing a lot. The people I thought would live often didn't, the people I thought would die lived. It was however, an amazing journey with characters that I just loved.

I want to know how their lives went after it was all over though!

Overall, the pacing was much better than Priory. However, the story in Priory was more interesting. Although I think it is a better book, I’m rating the same as Priory. I don’t believe Fallen Night could stand on its own. I think this would be a poor book to read before Priory, and a chronological reading would be confusing and messy experience.
