I donโ€™t read mafia romances often, but when  Iโ€™m in the mood to read one, I always grab a Neva Altaj book. Her books are dark, steamy, and delicious. This book absolutely tore me apart. Itโ€™s the sixth book in the perfectly imperfect series, and while itโ€™s more focused on drama romance in this book, itโ€™s an incredibly beautiful storyline.

I donโ€™t even know where to begin with this review because this book was so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. But first, let me just say that I have the upmost respect for authors that not only include trigger warnings and a note regarding said warnings with hotlines and resources for help, but also intense respect for writing and conveying Asyaโ€™s story in a delicate manner.

Fractured Souls is a book about healing, dealing with PTSD, resilience, and survival. Asyaโ€™s story tore me apart, and Pashaโ€™s love and patience towards Asya put the pieces back together. He builds her confidence back up, and alters his lifestyle in order to focus on Asya and her healing journey as she navigates the aftermath of her trauma.

This book has HEAVY triggers, so please read the trigger list before you pick up this book. Neva Altaj, you set the bar so high for dark mafia romance novels!

3.5/5 cute book. loved how patient the mmc was with the fmc. this book was an enjoyable read. did not like how he shaved his hair tho. it gave me the ick. overall i think pasha is a good person and in my opinion i dont think asya suited him that much but i guess none of the girls really suited the guy. anyway yeah love this author bc her books are never really trashy but they are just quick and easy for a light read. i also liked how this book barely mentioned rhe raping parts unlike hunting adeline.

4 hurt/comfort stars

This was much darker than the other books in the series (which I would consider mafia-lite), as it dealt with sexual abuse/sex trafficking.

Part of me knows the relationship between Asya and Pavel wasnโ€™t healthy, but that didnโ€™t stop the good hurt ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ˜ข from reading about how they grew so attached while he was helping her heal.

โ€œI wish I had the words to explain,โ€ I say next to her ear and kiss her earlobe, โ€œhow much I love you.โ€

I really liked this book, I wanted to give Asya's story a chance after reading Sienna's book and I'm so glad I did it.

Reading about Asya's story makes my heart hurt, seeing her grow emotionally and overcome all her traumas was the best thing about this book, I also liked Pavel and the way he helped her in any way he could, although I still think she needed another type of help (professional help/family support) I am very glad that they both ended up happy. โœจ
